ABOUT ANIPIANO 2014
In August 2013, YouTube™'s top-ranking anime classical pianists TheIshter (Ismael
Ramos) performed live in front of more than 1,000 dedicated fans in Singapore. The concert, held at Hwa Chong (College), was attended by fans in CosPlay from all over the world. Its amazing success has led to another live performance, AniPiano 2014, this time on the first night of the largest anime conference in North America, Anime Expo 2014. The genius pianist will be performing songs from popular anime works on July 3, 2014, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. The concert will also include special guest appearances by voice actress Christine Maria Cabanos with Ten Year, award-winning singer/songwriter/composer/lyricist Raj Ramayya, and the up-and-coming band, Above Seclusion. Anime pianist, TheIshter (Ismael Ramos), has been playing piano since he was 13, when he mimicked the theme song to the JEOPARDY! TV show by ear on a toy keyboard. He fell in love with the instrument and has been self-training himself ever since. "What I love most about playing anime piano arrangements is that I can communicate my own emotions of anime to the audience,†explains Ishter. It expresses my deepest feelings without even using a single word. When I upload a video and see comments of how it made them cry listening to my arrangements, it brings me endless joy, endless satisfaction that even when I'm so far away from my viewers, I can still get to the bottom of their hearts and make them feel what I feel." Professional anime voice-over actress and singer Christine Marie Cabanos will be making a special guest appearance at AniPiano 2014, lending her talents to select music performances with Ishter. Christine performed at Anime Expo 2013 last year, and is the vocalist for the band, Ten Year. Visit her YouTube™ channel where you will find covers of songs in both English and Japanese. Her first breakout role voice-acting came as Azusa Nakano of K-ON! and quickly became a regular presence in the anime voice acting and singing world for numerous anime works, as well as videogames, TV appearances and more. Raj Ramayya is a session singer/composer from Canada and is of Indian heritage. He has won and been nominated for several music awards for his scoring, including Best Soundtrack from Saskatchewan Motion Picture Association's "NextFest" for his Bhang Lassi, which is featured in the multiple Gemini award-winning documentary Cosmic Current. He is also featured on the critically acclaimed Anime series Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain, singing tracks on both of the internationally renowned soundtracks with Japanese composer Yoko Kanno. Ramayya is credited with over 250 TV commercials with co-writing, writing and singing contributions. Above Seclusion is a Southern California-based alternative rock band that features 15- and 16-year-old former performing arts singers and musicians, specializing in writing and recording their own music. The band frequently performs at world-class venues in Hollywood, such as the Roxy, Avalon Hollywood, Whisky A Go Go, House of Blues and Troubadour, and has also made a guest appearance on an ABC-TV primetime TV show. Above Seclusion will be touring with singer Ryan Beatty later this year in Los Angeles and Phoenix. In addition, a portion of AniPiano 2014 ticket proceeds will go to supporting the anti-bullying organization, "Jade Against Bullying" (J.A.B.).
