Did you know that today is National Floral Design Day??
The day was created with an idea to celebrate the wonderful art form of floral design and to honor the pioneer behind the growth and wide reach of floral arts in this world, Carl Rittner. The birthday of Rittner, February 28, 1914, is officially celebrated as the Floral Design Day in America every year.

The history of floral designs dates back to ancient Egypt, where the paintings, etchings, and carvings in tombs reveal bouquets made of lotus blossoms and buds. So, there is no doubt that humans have been involved in this art form from ancient days.

Today we celebrate not only the art but the artists who create beautiful designs every day!

GOOD NEWS! Our last in-person event of the year is coming up!
Join us on December 4th for this immersive hands-on design experience set in the grounds of Justin Winery in Paso Robles, CA. Jody Mcleod will take us on a design journey focusing on the rich colors and textures of the season. He'll discuss color theory, elements and principles of design along with tons of practical tips and inspiration.

The day of design concludes with dinner and wine tasting at the Michelin Recommended The Restaurant at Justin.

Yesterday's LIVE virtual program was AWESOME!! If you were able to join us, we hope you enjoyed Jerome Raska and Helen Miller's look into the evolution of the plant business and how to make money in your flower shops.

We LOVED the 'who wore it best,' a fun take on different ways to use the Teleflora pumpkin vase and Helen polled the winner with 82% of your votes!

Hands-on classes are back!

First up is Tom Bowling on October 2-4 instructing this exciting virtual hands-on class. Designed for newer florists and those who want to get back to basics will complete 8-9 hands-on projects throughout the three 4 hour sessions. On October 16-18 we will team up with Smither's Oasis for The Business of Celebrating Life. Instructed by Vonda LaFever Aifd and Joyce Mason-Monheim this in-person class will focus on celebrations of life, flowers to the home and multi-purpose designs. During this class we will also share how to incorporate keepsakes into your work, selling techniques, pricing and alternative mechanics. What an AMAZING few weeks! With the whole Education team's presentation at and a week of inspiration and networking, we're now in the run up to our next exciting adventure....

We're off to Philadelphia! A hands-on design class, Mastering the Process. This 2 day hands-on class instructed by Renee Tucci Aifd and Tim Farrell Aifd is going to be incredible. Not only will attendees receive 2 days of hands-on class time but we will have a private tour and dinner at Longwood Gardens.
