Next Tuesday we’re joining and for the 2024 Asian American Literature Festival!! Join us as friends from and join us for our first ever LITERAOKE!

Literaoke is a Kaya Press event held across the country where writers do a round of karaoke followed by a performance of original work. We’re bringing back the TNC House Band for one night only! Come through!

Want to perform for our Open Mic? Make sure to sign up for our lottery by 6:40 PM, there will only be 3 spaces available!

📸 Are you passionate about contributing to BIPOC/AAPINH art spaces? Eager to build community in Little Tokyo? And perhaps you have an emerging interest in show photography? Tuesday Night Cafe is looking for a volunteer day of show event photographer!

Join the TNP team and become part of one of the longest-running free arts series in Downtown LA and oldest Asian American mic series in the country. As our photographer, you'll take photos of our performers during shows, which will be shared on social media.

🍏🍉We are so excited to highlight our featured performer for TNP Jubliee! 🍋🍊

🌟Bitter Party is a Los-Angeles-based ghost pop band inspired by war-era music and the melancholy of life. Immersing themselves in the rich repertoire of folk, pop, and obscure tunes from Asia, their performance references the music in each of their pasts through dusty tapes, songbooks, vinyls, and YouTube channels. 💛Looking for a spot to express your beautiful, sensitive soul through art? Or do you have a performance you’ve always wanted to test out, but just for funsies? Tuesday Night Cafe might be the spot for you, and our artist submission form is now OPEN! 👐

🌿Tuesday Night Cafe is an Asian American/Los Angeles mic series that runs from April to October. We are open to all performing/presenting disciplines and all experience levels!

🌿Tuesday Night Cafe is not a showcase! We offer slots to artists who want space to try/workshop new work, build creative community, and perform for a warm audience.

🌿Tuesday Night Cafe is a volunteer-run space with limited slots and book as the season progresses so unfortunately will not be able to book or respond to all submissions! We promise that every submission will be reviewed!

Tuesday Night Project is deeply honored to be a recipient of the 2024 Artist Choice Awards presented by Ruth Arts ! Congrats to all the other art + community collectives who were also awarded this grant!

Ruth Arts is dedicated to meeting the evolving needs and lived experiences of artists, communities, and arts organizations whose work is anchored by visual arts, performing arts, and arts education. Each year, the Foundation invites a different group of artists to participate directly in its grantmaking through Artist Choice. Anchored in the belief that artists are vital decision-makers and guided by participatory grantmaking, Artist Choice invites artists from varying disciplines and at all stages of their careers to recommend organizations that have deeply influenced their creative practices and contributed to the cultural imagination at large.

For the third iteration, Artist Choice focused on artist collectives— as both nominators and recipients— recognizing a critical but often underfunded facet of the artmaking ecosystem. The 2024 selection process was informed by the recommendation of 19 collectives, who acknowledged the inspiring work of other collectives for their commitment to artist-driven models of operation, their investment in peer mentorship and cultivating artistic communities, and for embodying the interdependence that is imperative to sustainable artistic practices.

Hi Tuesday Night Project Family! 🌿

We are thrilled to invite you to our Fundraising Kick-Off Show on August 15th at 7:30pm, celebrating 25 years of art+community programs & partnerships! This show will kick off the beginning of our ambitious fundraising campaign, as we aim to raise $40,000 from now until Spring 2024.

For 25 years Tuesday Night Cafe has been a beacon of creativity, inclusivity, and community empowerment. We take immense pride in being the longest-running Asian American free public arts series in the country. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our vibrant community - artists, performers, collaborators, and all those who share our passion for art and culture.

Tuesday Night Cafe will also be returning to streaming on YouTube. No need to RSVP on Eventbrites any more - just join the fun on YouTube!
