DJ Craig’s first wedding as the ring bearer for Uncle Hal and Aunt Jill’s wedding in 1972. Once the DJ started playing the dance set, Craig was hooked. Then the DJ played Colour My World by Chicago and everyone got all mushy. Still though, an informative life moment. (Now he likes it when everyone gets all mushy)

Let us start by saying that we take no pleasure in hearing about couples being let down by other DJs. Their wedding is one of the highlights of their relationship and their lives and it makes us more than a bit miffed that our fellow professionals have not risen to the occasion. In the case you’re about to read, it sounds like the DJ company didn’t do enough due diligence and the DJ was way out of his comfort zone with the couple’s music choices. This and the other negative examples listed could have been avoided by doing more homework on your DJ:

Do they carry liability insurance? (We do!)

Are they willing to meet you in person, if local, or at least call/video conference to discuss your wedding? (We are!)

Do they have an online private client area with links to the couple’s wedding planning form, customizable timeline, song list builder w/ prioritization and song notes? And a ‘guest request list’ link, if desired? (We do via DJ Intelligence!)

Do they offer ongoing consultation via call/text, email & video conf? (We do!)

Is the DJ assigned experienced enough to work with your song list and follow the musical guidance you’ve discussed?

A huge congratulations to Dean and Chelsea who’s wedding we were honored to DJ on April 6, 2024. We also had the pleasure of working with our favorite officiant, Heidi Merrigan from Love Story Vows, who we met in 2006 when we were both working for another wedding co. as well as the wonderful Karen from Bella Dia weddings and her crew who were on top of it all throughout the day and photographer Holly Castillo (who shoots way better than our iPhone pics seen here) for a successful team effort. We had a blast at Sean and Allissa’s wedding Sat., 8/11/24 at Duke’s Malibu! What a fun group! In addition to the Cupid Shuffle seen here led by DJ Craig, the group all danced to the Cha Cha Slide and a line dances to Alan Jackson’s Good Time and Luke Bryan’s Country Girl (Shake it for Me), followed by Shout….”a little bit softer now, a little bit softer now…”

We live for the inevitable “late in the wedding reception dance circle”!! All the food and libations have taken full effect, the older folks have either left or are enjoying coffee and 2nds or 3rds on cake and we get to play “sexy-nasty” music - though in this case, Pitbull’s I Know You Want Me is a bit tamer than what’s usually requested.
