Who:
BrockusRED is a proud LA based company that produces the work of the artistic director Deborah Brockus and has performed nationally and internationally. Themes in our dances explore the human condition in relationship to the natural work. With a fascination on interwoven ideas and patterns in nature and the complexities of the human mind and emotions. Using many styles of dance to create, Brockus’ work is characterized by energy, tension and relationships. A voracious space mover, the work fills the space and occupies a drop of space. The company has performed in Europe, South Korea and across the USA.
A major producer of dance showcases in the Greater LA region and the company teaches through schools in LA and Long Beach bringing dance to our youth

Are you an arts manager, arts expert, cultural events producer, or cultural business financial manager? Have you lived in Los Angeles for more than three years, during which time you’ve attended weekly arts and creative experiences?

If yes to any of the above, would you be interested in serving as a grant panelist for DCA’s Cultural Grant Program?

To be considered for an appointment as a peer reviewer, please apply through the link below by December 31, 2024. If selected, you will be part of a diverse team that will determine municipal grant support for local artists or non-profit arts/cultural organizations. Panel meetings are scheduled each Fall-Winter, December through February.

Panelists receive an honorarium of $100 per panel meeting day, plus $10 per grant application reviewed, up to a maximum of $500. Proposals and scoring materials are sent to panelists at least two weeks prior to meeting along with scoring instructions.

Women making art in the crazy, exciting hard town. Inspirations / visions/ truths/ passions/. Art blooming in the concrete jungle that can be LA. This showcase produced by Brockus, features the work of multiple women identifying choreographers that call the LA region home.

Friday Sept 13th at 7:30 and Saturday Sept 14th 7:30pm Features the works of Deborah Brockus, Andrea Burr, Mallory Fabin, Maura Townsend. Saturday 2:30 show features a longer work by Charlotte Katherine in one half and a mix of works by emerging choreographers in the second half of the show.
The Performances take place in Fiesta Hall located in Plummer Park in WeHo
7377 Santa Monica Blvd (enter the theater on the west side of the park)

Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for residents of WeHo

Our Story

Brockus Project Dance and The Luckman Theater at California State -LA present the 7th annual Los Angeles Dance Festival. LA is the hot spot for dance. What is known as Modern Dance started here in the early 1900's and has persisted and grown throughout the years into a thriving local dance community supporting hundreds of international touring dance companies and artists. Los Angeles Dance Festival brings these award winning choreographers and dancers home for four amazing weekends of contemporary Dance in LA. WHO: LADF is by Brockus Project, under the direction of Deborah Brockus. Los Angeles Dance Festival was choose as Best of LA 2016 by the LA Weekly LADF features the top talent in the dance scene - Artists who are recognized locally, nationally and internationally. The dancers and choreographers in LADF work in both the concert and Hollywood industry. Their work is onstage around the world in feature films, tv shows, music videos, commercials and music tours. Ms. Brockus is the producer of numerous dance showcases including the long running Spectrum Dance in LA series. WHAT: The Los Angeles Dance Festival, is a celebration of the LA dance community.
