Yesterday was my one-year contact-iversary with Z+D! In the thick of production—during this exciting but chaotic phase—I suddenly remembered that exactly a year ago, they had reached out with a simple but special inquiry. It hit me 🥹. I got a little emotional and paused my work frenzy to reflect on the incredible year we’ve shared.

On our first inquiry call, I wanted to connect and set expectations about how I am as a planning partner: if they wanted a traditional, formal, buttoned-up planner, I wasn’t their person. My systems and processes are tight, I have work/life boundaries, but my style is casual, warm, and collaborative (hello exclamation points!!!). They said that’s what they were looking for. They only spoke to me 🥹🤩

Over the past year, we’ve had so much fun together—from their whimsical engagement party to the epic camp bachelorette weekend, and finally, now their upcoming wedding. Together, we’ve created these temporary, alternative worlds that have become lasting memories for their family and friends.

Z+D love their people and they are so thoughtful about the way they bring them together. They also appreciate and care for their creative teams and we all get so excited to be a part of their events!!

Now I better get back to work.

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have spent the last year with Z + D planning their engagement party at Petit Ermitage, sleep away camp bachelorette extravaganza at Auto Camp Joshua Tree, and now their wedding week celebration at Amangiri. I’ve never felt so lit up, creatively inspired, stretched, grateful, proud, aligned, valued, trusted, and appreciated!

My best friend asked me the other day what I was going to do with myself when all of this is over 🥹🤯.

I know I’m going to miss this big adventure, and I’ll miss Zoe + Dempsey and our almost weekly meetings. They are now engrained in my daily life. Their wedding is all that my friends and family hear about these days, because I’m so immersed in this project. One thing I know for sure is that Z+D set a high bar for dream humans with dream projects and I’ll always remember what this creative partnership has meant to me!!!

Today I’ll be at my final site visit before their Fall wedding!

Maximalist Wrensmoor Castle Dinner Party! Set at the enchanting Los Angeles estate venue we designed a one-of-a-kind dining experience under the stars featuring colorful garden blooms, hand-painted taper candles, candelabras, damask linens, velvet napkins, patterned china, bookmark-style name cards/menus, and artisanal chocolate gifts for the guests. The family-style meal was delicious!!!

Petit Ermitage Engagement Party in West Hollywood! We transformed Petit Ermitage’s rooftop into a wonderfully wild whimsical wonderland engagement party for Z+D.

Guests stepped through the rabbit hole into a bold and immersive world filled with quirky characters. We had a flower ballerina, an ivy stilt walker, a mime, mirror ball couple, fire dancers, pool bubble contortionist, magician, and custom dog Zoltar machine!

Paramour Estate Los Angeles Wedding Reception! Hayley, Chris, and their favorite people enjoyed a family-style dinner party on the Great Lawn of the enchanted Paramour Estate!! beautifully captured all of ’s incredibly delicious food. I love how all of the vibrant colors shine through in these images! As they say, we eat with our eyes… and Chef Terri dazzled us 👀🤩

With our catering partners, we spend months working on the menu development, tasting, menu revisions, food presentation details, rental selections, menu language for print, wine and signature cocktail selections. Hundreds of emails and long meticulous planning meetings are had. It is a beautiful thing when you see it all come together and it tastes even more delicious than it looks!!

🍸💚 Let’s talk attire style guides for guests…the talented is my secret weapon! My clients share their desired level of formality and general vibe of the event. I then send Sophie my design deck and links to the venue, notes about the general design direction, color palette, and the feeling (energy) we want to create. Sophie digests the information and creates an attire style guide for the event. We then put the attire guide on the wedding website for guests to enjoy.

In this particular case, Hayley wanted to make sure the guests knew how spectacular the Paramour Estate is. She didn’t want guests to show up and feel underdressed or feel like they missed an opportunity to peacock if they wanted to. 🦚 This beautiful lady in green understood the assignment!!

Nadia, Liz, and I had a post-wedding Zoom yesterday to catch up! We reminisced about their vibrant and soulful wedding and shared our favorite moments and forever memories. They asked me if it really was as smooth on the production side day-of, as it felt from their side…and it was! We talked about this incredible photo sneak peek that .chelle had just sent us. They were so happy they invested in photography! They can’t wait for the video which they are so happy they said yes to (I will always push for video, no regrets)!

They shared how all of their friends and family couldn’t stop talking about the beautiful florals from , the delicious food and cocktails, and the best dance party thanks to and .

We talked all about how weird it is to go from constant intimate communication to almost nothing once the wedding is over 🥹. I encourage my couples to stay connected. Hopefully, we will share a happy hour or a meal in the future because we are bonded for life.

There is nothing like a pool party after a field trip to the Joshua Tree National Park! On day 3 of Zoe + Dempsey’s sleep away bachelorette camp, their guests enjoyed pool time, a burger and fry bar bbq, a nostalgic camp craft table, and some pool side acrobatics 😅. I love a nice big wide establishing shot!! You get a better feel of the event scope and ground space we covered. When I went to film school, our teachers (who were working tv/film pros) really hammered in the point for us to shoot the wide shots first so we have coverage of everything… and it has always stuck with me. Thank you for these aerial shots and thank you for these horizontal shots. 🤩

I can’t wait to share more details from each incredible day of Zoe + Dempsey’s 4-day bachelorette party. We had a blast at Joshua Tree with 60+ guests and 30+ vendors!!

Z+D’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” featured a vintage mailbox, an eclectic mix of taxidermy, oddities, curiosities, and lush dramatic + garden blooms! This was so much fun to design, develop, and execute with Zoe, Dempsey, and our incredible team!!

’s character illustrations (featured on the invitations and event website) were brought to life by ! Unifier developed charming characters and we created an immersive experience for our guests! Guests were directed to pick a key, turn the key to open the mailbox, and then to their surprise, a blue gloved-hand would pop out and hand them a special collectible trinket. The guest would then grab a custom velvet pouch to take home their new keepsake in. So fun!!

I’m gearing up for two weddings at this June! My creative brain is living at The Paramour while I tie up design and logistics details for two amazing couples! I’ve planned a bunch of weddings at the Paramour and three of them never got to move forward (2020 🙃) and one was downsized from 100+ to 20 guests in 2021 (and it was still awesome). I’m so excited to be able to create in one of my favorite locations again!

I’m heading out to the desert for another multi-day event this week! This has me thinking about Katie + John’s joyful, colorful, community-centered wedding weekend. Their Thursday festivities kicked off with a weather incident (a haboob 🌪️😱) two days before the wedding, but thankfully it cleared by the Friday welcome party and Saturday wedding day!

Katie + John wanted their wedding to represent their unique and diverse family origins. We sprinkled thoughtful nods into the custom event branding details, decor elements, and music selections. We included Australian flowers and foliage to represent Katie’s family and we served Paella during cocktail hour to represent John’s Spanish heritage. After a delicious dinner, guests enjoyed a live band, a cozy bar lounge, and an ice cream sandwich bar! They continued the night at an after party at a local wine bar.

Zoe + Dempsey came into my life 4 days after Uncle Chuy’s memorial after a few dark months of in-home hospice. Their partnership felt like a huge “everything is going to be okay” gift from the universe the moment we connected. ⚡️After only a 45-minute phone call they chose me to plan their engagement party, bachelorette party, and wedding!!! They are warm, generous, fun, creative, easy to be around, non-traditional, cheeky, and so thrilling to partner with. They know what they like and we just happen to like a lot of the same things. They are dedicated to creating an amazing experience for their guests and I see how much they love their friends and family. Z + D have become a household name. I talk about them every day to Jordan, Hector, and my family. All I can say is how much I love them and appreciate them and how lit up I am. It is such an honor to be trusted in a way where I feel seen, valued, and appreciated. It is truly a delight to be in this year-long multi event adventure with them and I thank my lucky stars for them every day. Planning their spectacular engagement party let me tap into the vault of all so many creative ideas that had never had the chance to come to life. Z+D shared what they wanted and then each collaborating partner added to the creative vision with their artistry and unique storytelling perspective. You’ve never seen a team so lit up and excited to be a part of this wild fever dream!!
