This lecture examines and explores some of the concepts and vocabulary we use to understand the difference between internal and external, and how those concepts apply to acting.

We will work through different ways of approaching the most common combat moves for stage and for screen, keeping them believable and safe. You’ll also learn methods for working out other fight moves you may encounter in your career.💪

Feel free to bring any specific questions about moves you would like to figure out and we will try to cover as many as time allows! ✨

Note: This class is open to all students who have taken class with Roberta before, as all new material will be covered!

The Intermediate Acting Class is a 6-class “Actor’s Gym” taught over Zoom by Gina Simms where students work specifically and correctly.  

Scenes are given during class with no homework, and nothing to prepare before class begins. Students are redirected in their second read and will learn how to properly take direction (whether it be from casting or a director on set) without getting in their heads and losing authentic connection.

Break down a scene with little time.
✨Gain confidence with new material.
✨ Find the WHY behind the words.
✨ Handle physicality in scenes.
✨ Strengthen memorization skills.
✨ Calm audition anxiety.

Prerequisite: Youth Acting Class. Ages 10-14.
