What a great year of food, family, friends and wine, of course! Five wine tasting events, adventures in Italy and Spain, Palm Springs and times at home in Los Angeles made 2024 a memorable year. The year ahead has many adventures and fun times with family and friends around a few bottles of wine and I look forward to sharing it with everyone! Happy 2025!

On Thanksgiving I traditionally give it an Italian touch by adding pasta. Every holiday with my grandparents included pasta before the turkey and as a sometimes adult I have continued this tradition. One is beef and pork. The other is artichokes with bechamel, mozzarella and parmigiano reggiano cheeses. No wine yet as it’s still morning. Happy Thanksgiving!

Loves seeing Madama Butterfly at last night with my honey . Dorothy Chandler pavilion takes one back in time with that green carpet and this brilliant chandelier! No comment on the wine I had though. Go support the opera even if you’re not a big fan!

I visited early this summer so of course I need to pour participants in this Sunday’s Southern Italian wine pop up tasting. Falanghina was introduced to me long ago on the first of many trips to Roma and I continue to try different offerings when I get to wine bars and restaurants globally. This wine tasting and learning afternoon will be intimate and delicious. I’m always appreciative of the positive feedback I receive from guests and thankful for their engagement. A week from today I will be hosting a guided wine tasting of four offerings from Italy’s passionate, beautiful and sexy south! Join me and other wine lovers and enjoy four wines, like this one, a Primitivo from Puglia, the southeastern region of the peninsula. The location in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles is a private hillside home built in the 1920s. We will have antipasti as well, as we sip and learn about these wines and the regions where they are made.

I couldn’t wait any longer to pop open this 2023 Piedirosso Stregamora Roccamonfina by that I picked up earlier this summer at the vineyard. The winery is literally 20 minutes from my family’s ancestral home! So, who likes chilled reds? I tend to like mine cool and think the idea is often just marketing but this garnet red juice is so light and bright, chilled is the best way to enjoy it. it’s going to be tough not to finish this tonight!
