This natural wine bar in La Latina in Madrid kept me there for almost two hours due to a brief rain storm. 🙊 It’s called Fun Fun and it’s cute and chill with knowledgeable baristas pouring all Spanish bottles and serving vegan bites. What will I find in this fantastic city today?

Hola todos! No, I’m not sipping an Italian this time. I’ve been drinking Spanish wine all week as I’m headed there to join on Sunday for a week. I love wine from everywhere and Spain is one of my favorite countries to learn about. Who has any wine bars in Madrid and Barcelona they’d recommend?! As well, I’d love to know about any vineyards in Penedes that are a must to see. Please share! Gracias!

Fantastic gathering at Saturday’s all Sicilian wine tasting. We had over 20 participants who learned about the fantastically exotic island’s history, food and, the whole point of the event, WINES! We tasted Nerello Mascalese, Nero d’Avola, Nerello Cappuccio and the unique Zibibbo. Special thanks to for hosting, for helping pour, for their incredible cheeses and all the people that came out on a chilly yet cozy setting. Tasting a rosato last night for my upcoming gathering on Saturday. This one is from a vineyard that dates back to the 1400s in central Sicily and I know guests will love it. I’m feeling nostalgic. Back in 2018 I created a wine tasting and food experience centered around the exotic beauty of Sicily. It was one of my favorite gathering for many reasons. The home it took place at was perfect with a gorgeous view and hosts who have a sweet spot for Sicily. The guests were enthusiastic and way too much fun and beautiful. The food prepared was authentically Sicilian inspired. Lastly, and the point entirely, the wines were spectacular. I am revisiting Sicilia for an intimate tasting as the sun sets behind the Griffith Park observatory here in Los Angeles on Saturday June 1st from 6-8:30. The wines will be like a tour of that beautiful island, which is technically Italy yet so different as many cultures have influenced it throughout millennia. Rustic all natural scenery from calls for a rustic all natural red from Abruzzo at sunset last night after 36 hours of solitude. Couldn’t feel more refreshed. This is post hot tub session and pre steak dinner. Perfection. Thanks to my brother

One of my favorite Italian grape varieties to pour for others and of course myself is a red called Aglianico. It’s grown in the region of Campania and has Greek origins. This bottle is from a vineyard in a small town called Cellole, very close to the town where my family is from, San Carlo di Sessa Aurunca. On Sunday the 14th I’ll be pouring this along with two wines from Greece and an Italian white. There are still some spots available. Link in bio to reserve.

I’m happy to share with all of you and invite you to a unique wine tasting on Sunday April 14 from
3-5:30 in Los Angeles. As the name and image suggest I’ll be pouring and teaching about Greek and Italian wines made from grape varieties vilified by the ancient Greeks and Romans. There will be 2 Greek and 2 Italian ones, a white and red from each. We will be serving some noshes from each culture to enjoy alongside. Happy Monday everyone! Is it rosè time yet? At my upcoming all Italian sparkling wine tasting we will be trying this refreshing rosè prosecco. Bubbly rosè wines have only been approved to label their wines as Prosecco since 2021 even though producers have offered them much before that. And, did you know that like champagne, Prosecco has to follow strict guidelines and come from the same area in the Veneto region. Next Saturday from 3-5:30 I’ll be hosting a pop up tasting of Italian sparkling wine. One of those features will be a gorgeous bottle from the region of Franciacorta. This is super elegant and one that you don’t always find here. It’s made in the “metodo classico,” the same method to sparkling wine production as in Champagne, with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. First night in Puerto Vallarta…dinner on the sand at a favorite restaurant. The drink was a hibiscus margarita which was more tart than sweet. A glass of Chardonnay from Valle de Guadalupe followed. I recently participated in a private architecture firm’s annual networking mixer by pouring an all selection. It was a group of about 80 people and tons of fun and interest in what I was offering.
