Rumor has it that this antique 12-foot Brunswick-Balke-Collender bar traveled around Cape Horn sometime between 1860 and the late 1880's in a sailing ship and was installed in downtown SLO's Cosmopolitan/St. James Hotel before Paul Merrick brought it to the Saloon in the late 1960s. While we may not be certain about the origin of this fine piece, we do know one thing—that it's not going anywhere! ⁠
