I have owned my building & operated business out of it for 30yrs in Louisburg. The citizens are fabulous! I started Treehouse119 to fill one of the numerous empty spaces in Louisburg with a special place to make memories. It has drawn patrons to Louisburg from all over (super benefit for the town) Covid was one thing to deal with, but the City & a business out did themselves Saturday. The City allows main public road closings without notice but worse they didnt provide space, parking or assistance (from the beginning) resulting in hundreds of people displaced from a neighboring business. I watched video of how the other towns treated them & handled in an organized way which im sure was a result of cities working WITH the citizens & businesses. It should have happened that way here When the Broadway project closed in the streets, i brought the issue to their attention. Parking needed to be created (farmers market, behind foxhall, old hs etc) with directional signs as well as a simple text system for the businesses to give them a heads up. It is so tight that the car show & funeral home immediately vacated to spaces that could properly accomodate their guests & events The result of neglegence to support the businesses within their own town has been nothing short of a continual pathetic s**t show. I can not rent to someone for their special event if there is a chance it will end in a miserable experience...i just wont! Louisburg has had many years to resolve this issue & remove the catalyst but has not. Understand this is not a new problem. There is a reason for so many empty doors. The newest fail is a private business not following permit counsel approved provisions with no concern for other businesses, patrons or the city as a whole. The effected businesses incl me were told to "mind their business " Usually the businesses make up the slack from the City to make events successful, but that definitely did not happen on the last permitted event. Hopefully 3rd party investigations will sort out the mess & change will occur. Effective immediately i am closing Treehouse 119. I will use the contents on another venture except i really don't have a use for the huge live edge table so it is being offered for sale. If interested please contact me.
