From the moment I saw Dave’s website, I knew I wanted him to be the videographer at my wedding. There are almost no words to describe how incredible Dave and his team are. Not only were they professional, they were also funny and interactive and made everyone feel so comfortable on wedding day.

My dad was initially hesitant about having a videographer - when he saw the teaser videos from Dave he said, “For once, I’m glad you didn’t listen to me.” My husband and I have had people, that we haven’t talked to in years, reaching out and asking how they hire Dave. Hi everyone, it’s Dave 👋🏼

Throughout the past 11 years of being a full time filmmaker in the wedding industry, I’ve never been too focused on social media presence, so you’ve probably never heard of me. That’s totally cool 👌🏼

However, I just wanted to quickly jump on here to remind engaged couples who are searching for their favorite videography team that we’re still out here thriving. Our 10th season of weddings is in full force and we’ve been having the best time celebrating our wonderful couples. Documenting + preserving every moment of your special day together is a privilege we will never take for granted.

In between filming beautiful events, editing, meetings, phone + email communications as well as an endless amount of miscellaneous tasks to knock off the list, the schedule is always very busy for us this time of year. I blinked and I’m already halfway through my 9th year of filming weddings 🤯

If you would have told little 11 year old me when I picked up that first camcorder I’d later begin to document hundreds of beautiful weddings all around the country, I simply wouldn’t have believed you.

At that age, I was only focused on creating the best skate videos I could with what little I understood. Those beginning stages of learning how to make basic edits in Adobe premiere pro, while filming with my Canon GL2 w/ the widest angle lens possible, (because it was so rad 🤪) are some of the fondest memories of my life.

To be honest, I had no real plan. It all eventually fell into place through trial and error (it’s a long story so ask and I’ll gladly share it with you). Heck, I didn’t even understand correct shutter speeds, aperture and white balance adjustments, etc. for a long time.

But, 27 years later and I can say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute of evolving into a visual storyteller. The travels and genuine relationships created all because of filming your wedding. The sleepless nights and early mornings of production, while continuously evolving my brand to discover and implement systems to best serve you. But most importantly, preserving the love, joy + celebrations from one of the most symbolic days in your lives together. It all provides a feeling of happiness I can’t really begin to explain.

So, I want you to know that if I’ve been lucky enough to work with you since 2014, it has been an absolute pleasure. While I don’t know what the future holds, I do hope that I still have another good 21+ seasons of doing what I love most. Living behind the lens to help you always remember what a wonderful love story you two have created + shared together ✨

How stoked I am to jump into another exciting season of weddings taking place all over the country 🤘🏼

For those new to the channel, I wanted to quickly introduce myself. I’m Dave, a destination wedding filmmaker based in Kentucky & Colorado. I began documenting weddings in 2013, couldn’t get enough of it all and the rest is simply history. It’s my favorite thing to do and I hope that always shows in the art I’m extremely fortunate to create for my wonderful clients ✨

In my free time, I love nothing more than traveling the globe, exploring the great unknown, discovering new music, movies + tv series, playing golf (a lot, like way too much, so let’s go play together soon ⛳️ ) snowboarding & lately, being very competitive at Mario Kart 8 🎮

I’ve been holding onto some really exciting news for a while now (am I moving to Colorado?! More on that later 😎)…

And even though I’m not ready to spill all the beans just yet, I am stoked to fill everyone in on just a little bit of what’s been going behind the scenes. Long story short, there are a ton of pivots being made that I may share publicly at a later date. But for those interested in learning more, continue reading…

As I finish out my 10th year of filming weddings in 2023, the time to switch things up and evolve as not just an artist, but as a human being has arrived. I’ve felt the universe doing what it does the past few years and have no choice but to finally listen to it and listen well.

This incredible industry has presented me with so many wonderful opportunities over the years (meeting and working with the absolute best couples + friendors, while documenting hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt weddings and traveling to so many places I’ve lost count), I’ll never be able to fully express just how grateful I am for everything I have experienced. It’s been one heck of a ride.

I’m just ready for so much more growth and diving 110% into my passions of filmmaking, photography, storytelling, education, podcasting, all other areas of production, traveling the world and a never ending list of pursuits I want to achieve.

So with that, I’ve decided to switch things up. Moving forward with 2024 bookings, I am going to intentionally limit my calendar to taking on 6 amazing weddings, so that I have more than enough time to grow into other fields of work including education, podcasting, commercial, corporate and freelance projects.

Lastly, this isn’t goodbye, at all. I will still continue to document weddings for years to come, just with a much more limited approach to my scheduling, in order to provide my clients a professional grade experience unlike any other.

Big things are coming ✨

Over the past 6-7 years, my filmmaking career has consistently evolved into mostly destination weddings and elopements, taking place all around the country.

While I do still document a few select weddings in my hometown of Kentucky each season, it’s become more rare these days. 80% of my weddings for next year are out of state and mostly all inquiries I’ve had for 2024 are the same 🤯

If you know me, then you’re aware that I love and fully embrace getting lost in the adventure, exploring the great unknown and welcoming the unpredictable + uncomfortable with open arms (cultivating a childlike mindset if you will), as this is where I believe the most growth stems from in life.

Though some planned pivots are brewing behind the scenes, for now I just wanted to let it be known that moving forward I will be providing my wedding filmmaking + photography services in Colorado with ZERO travel fees. More information will be provided in due time, but if you’re planning a wedding in CO for 2023/2024, get in touch with me ASAP!

Settling into my favorite season of the year ✨

It’s a time to:

• Breathe a bit. To slow down from the hustle + bustle and reflect upon just how thankful I am for the journey of evolvement over the years.

• Appreciate the courage it took to set out and finally go my own way in life. It’s been such a difficult process w/ more than enough obstacles in the way, but one I wouldn’t trade for the world.

• Diligently sit on each project in my backlog for as much time as needed, in order to create the best work I can for wonderful clients I’m lucky enough to serve.

• Remind myself that dozens of years of experience will always hold more value over thousands of social media followers. Knowledge and expertise can never be taken away from you, as it’s been earned. Social media apps could disappear tomorrow.

• Take in the calm mornings w/ coffee in hand, while cozying up with a good book.

• Stay consistent with all things health & fitness.

• Travel and get lost in the great outdoors, preferably on a snowboard or golf course.

• Lastly, it’s a time to connect with other fellow artists in the industry and new clients alike. I look forward to getting to know so many new faces in the months to come and wish you all a happy fall/winter season ahead 😊

Lauren + Tyler // Coming Soon 🥂 For as long as I can remember, I’ve always gently reminded my clients throughout our experience together that wedding filmmaking is a rather in depth process, full of many moving parts. I always thank them endlessly for their patience in receiving their collection, because there’s really no other creative endeavor quite like it. Just a few days ago I was “set in stone” about how Lauren + Tyler’s story would play out and the storyboarding process was complete.
