I saw this in flower for the first time a few weeks back in Hawaii and we flowered our first one today. We have a handful blooming size and lots more getting close to blooming size. It’s still rewarding to grow seedlings up to blooming size, especially when batches have nice parents like this one.

Psychopsis Mendenhall.
These orchids have amazing flowers that emerge from a long thin spike and look like a butterfly floating in the air.

We have one of the best batches of Oncidium Sharry Baby that we’ve ever had right now. They’re just starting to bloom with multiple spikes and will easily have over 100 flowers on them.
They smell like chocolate or vanilla depending on who you ask.

We have a Vanilla orchid blooming in the greenhouse right now along our main walkway. The flowers only last 1 day but it produces clusters of blooms that open over the course of several days. This plant has several places producing buds right now so it will have flowers off and on for the next few weeks. Stop by to check it out.
