It’s our LAST SHOW! For this one, we’re returning to our roots in experimental, neo-classical, and improvised electro-acoustic music, and it’s going to be glorious.

Come out next Thursday, 11/21 and celebrate with us as we welcome some incredible musicians and sonic explorers!

It’s the end of an era for CAMP Social Club, your favorite hidden alley speakeasy DIY underground music and arts venue— and we’re sad to call it quits. For the last 5 years, we’ve hosted hungry young bands on their rise to glory, artists who would go on to play Pitchfork and other huge bills, and exciting experimental musicians who might not have otherwise found a stage in this city. Unfortunately, it feels like Louisville’s love for the magic of live music isn’t quite in line with ours, and I only want to offer a space that can promise to bring touring bands the attention they deserve. However, do stay tuned— next year, we’ll be working on new ways to offer CAMP as a creative co-work space and event rental facility, and I welcome any ideas you brilliant people have for continuing to contribute to the simmering local music and arts community.

I want to sincerely thank the hundreds of musicians and performers who have graced my little stage with their artistry and shared their gifts in Louisville, as well as the CAMP faithful and local audiences that have helped bring the room to life night after night. Love y’all.

TWO SHOWS LEFT so please come out and help us make these final performances a suitable farewell to what we’ve built here. 💛

11/21: We’re excited to welcome composer/performer Brittany J Green (North Carolina, current residence with the Louisville Orchestra) on Thursday, November 21st, whose electroacoustic music ignites visceral responses at the intersection of sound, video, movement, and text. “A creative force of attention-seizing versatility” (The Washington Post), Green’s work explores q***r and black feminist theory as tools for sonic world-building.

Joining her is Jamie Monck performing a piece for electric guitar and electronics by Isaac Roth Blumfield. Based in Louisville, Jamie seeks to explore musical structures in a way that evokes past experiences and memories. We’ll also welcome back to CAMP the incredible duo Choir Siren (TJ Cole and E Ravenscraft), who’ll bring their unique brand of evocative, improvisational electro-acoustic experimentation to the stage to round out an inspiring night of music.

UPCOMING SHOWS: Weird, wild, and wonderful!

9/26: This Thursday, expect a spectrum of sonic exploration at the crossroads of songwriting and noisemaking— it should be dark and delicious as we welcome touring artists from NYC and Berlin/France along with the unique styles of some emerging Louisville talents. Local poet laureate legend once said “Listen listen listen to the droning, mesmerizing, exploding noise of Mathieu Sylvestre as he creates and performs the soundtrack for the performance art underworld.”

10/2: Thrilled to have Public Speaking back in the building for a dazzling collision of spacy sounds, synths, and beats topped by Jason Anthony Harris’ powerhouse vocal acrobatics. Equally excited to hear new projects from some of the city’s most revered electro-acoustic experimenters in mae.k (of Pharmacy Girl) and Goatmen Sacks (Marcum, Layman, Rivera).

10/8: The wilderness expands with three solitary musical auteurs that are known for crafting adventurous sounds from custom-built instruments, circuit-bent noise devices, and retro analog synthesizers. Get ready to go all the way out there.
