What 2025 horror are you most anticipating?

Since Nosferatu is the number 1 horror movie at the theater at the moment we thought it would be fun to track the ORIGINAL creature of the night, and see where he haunted over the years. Many different films have used Count Orlok's likeness for their vamped out master villian.

1. The original SYMPHONY OF TERROR/HORROR Nosferatu's Count Orlok.
No one had ever seen such a monster on the big screen.

2. Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot's Mr. BARLOW! Stephen King's story of a classic monster in a contemporary time.

3. Nosferatu The Vampyre.
Werner Herzog's remake changed all of the names back to their Bram Stoker roots and creates a different ending for his film. He reportedly tortured, and killed thousands of rats to make his vision of this film.

4. THE MASTER! Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Series changed everything and ushered in a new way to make monsters both hip and scary.

5. SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE! The Nicholas Cage produced Behind the Scenes, mockumentary/bio pic, telling of the MAKING OF NOSFERATU? Staring Willem Defoe as a real vampiric Count Orlok. John Malkovic and an all star cast are amazing in this dark comedy, and it needs to be seen to be believed.

6. SALEM'S LOT 2004.
This miniseries remake of the 1979 miniseries sees Rutger Hauer as a more faithful version of Mr. Barlow from Stephen King's Novel. This version bares zero resemblance to the 1979 Barlow, that of course looks just like Count Orlok, but if we didn't include him we are sure that we would get hammered in the comments section. BAH!

7. BLADE II! Damaskinos is the grand father of all vampires in the Blade film universe. And he looks like it too. We love the homage to the original Nosferatu with an added aged skin effect that looks as if he's made of marble.

8. PETYR! What We Do in the Shadows' favorite vamp. You love him, we love him. Rest in Pictures, Petyr.

9. Mr. Barlow SALEM'S LOT 2024. Some loved it, some HATED it. It definitely grew on us after repeat viewings.

10. COUNT ORLOK LIVES! Bill Skarsgard as the new Count. We loved the mixing of Vlad III and the Max Schrek version (AKA ORIGINAL) Count Orlok. Again repeat viewings have sealed our opinion on this one and we love it.

We're thrilled to welcome back a favorite guest, Robin Curtis! Her last visit was way back in 2006!

In the late summer of 1983, Robin was cast as Lt. Saavik in STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK. Two years later she appeared in STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME. Then in 2024, Robin was given the privilege of reprising Saavik in the short film UNIFICATION 765874.

Other past roles include SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND, and BABYLON 5. In STAR TREK TNG’s seventh season, Robin was cast as Tallera in GAMBIT I and II. Robin also starred in the indie movie, AWAKEN THE REAPER, to be released in 2025.

What was your top horror, sci-fi, fantasy film of 2024? It was a great year for genre fans.

Terror Train 1980

The quintessential New Year's Eve Slasher film. There are other New Year's Even horror films, but they do not pack as many horror troupes as this one does.

A costume/Masquerade, trapped in an isolated area, this time a train, a costume swapping killer, fraternity horror, a magic show by renowned magician David Copperfield, and Halloween super star Jamie Lee Curtis.

It has been remade twice. Yay!
One is a very loose remake staring Thora Birch of Hocus Pocus and Ghost World and then a 2022 tubi original. The tubi remake stays fairly close to the original film's story, but moves the plot to Halloween and the killer does not swap out the costumes of his victims. There was a sequel to this too... yay.

If you can find watch it. Alone.
