For decades my father, Don Maxon, spent tremendous amounts of time salvaging interesting architectural items from old buildings and stored them in various places on the Lilac Hill property. He had a keen eye for beauty and quality and was into this type of collecting well before it became "cool" like it is today. The property itself is a work of art as he also spent 30 years clearing the overgrown

land and landscaping it with thousands of varieties of flowers, shrubs, evergreen trees, lilacs and crabapples. From April through October there is always color wherever you look.

A quick update for all our friends. Yes we have a lot of branches down but the barns and big trees are all still standing and we have power. Working hard today to get it cleaned up for Saturdays wedding. Very grateful it wasn’t worse.

Hello everyone, and I hope you are warm and safe this cold Friday. I just wanted to confirm that we are going forward with our Open House on Saturday January 20th from 10am - 2pm. The barn is decorated with all the items included in your rental fee so you can take pictures and figure out what we have that will work into your decoration design. Any guests who have not yet found a venue home are welcome to come by anytime for a tour. We also have time available for tours on Sunday from 10am - 3pm.
