We had a great time at our final BBQ competition of the year, Boo-B-Que, in Oak Grove, MO.

This is our second year coming to this contest and Greg, American Fire BBQ, and their team do a fantastic job. This is one that we plan on keeping on our calendar each year.

We got to hang out with the usual suspects and meet some new faces as well.

We got to taste a batch of this a few weeks back and it is soooo good!

The long awaited arrival of our 11th seasoning is finally here!! Allow me to introduce THE BIG HOUSE “Garlic Jalapeño”!!!!

Now the story behind this one is near and dear to us at Smokin Bros. The picture on this bottle is a cartoon drawing of the East Gate Folsom State Prison in California.

The reason why we chose to represent this was to pay a tribute to one of the founding fathers of the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation Glenn Mueller passed away last year (October 14, 2022) after a long battle with cancer.

Glenn was the Warden at Folsom Prison from 1996-2000. While employed for California Department of Corrections In the early 1980s, Mueller helped organize the first Special Emergency Response Team, being second in command of the new unit. He also served in the United States Marine Corp.

Glenn’s dedication and service to his country and the correctional profession nationwide are unsurpassed,” according to a statement issued by Folsom State Prison. “He will be greatly missed.”

This Foundation means so much to us and Glenn did as well. He was one of the good ol boys and never forgot where he came from. He was a guard at heart as I could tell through the numerous stories he could tell like it happened yesterday.

Glenn this one is for you, your are missed dearly my friend…

We learned this weekend that there are BBQ competitions. And then there's Poosa Q. We had heard alot of good things about this one, but we were blown away at how well-run this contest is. The staff did an amazing job this weekend. This one will definitely be on our 2024 schedule!

Now to the cook... We were happy with our chicken and rib turn-ins. The Gateway Drum Smokers did the heavy lifting. Overall we had a really solid cook.

We finished 4th in chicken and 1st in ribs for Backyard Grand Champion and some AWESOME trophies.

Congratulations to PuckDaddy's Killer Q on Reserve Grand Championship on the Backyard side and everyone else who heard their names called.

Back from Boomer Backyard BBQ Cookoff in Canton, MN. This is a absolute blast of a competition. We had a great time. Big highlight of the weekend was having two of the Wilson boys with helping run the program.

Grand Champions!!! Taking the walk with the boys was memorable.

The dust has settled and we're all unpacked from an awesome weekend in Mayetta, KS for the 2023 KCBS World Invitational. We liked our cooks. We won a few tables. But unfortunately didn't hit the right ones. That's how it goes sometimes...
