Our Brambach Grand Piano at MenNefer.
This Brambach Grand Piano was here at MenNefer when we took ownership. Fellow community members have stated that the piano has been here since the 1930's and that the local children were taught lessons on this piano.
Established in 1823, the Brambach Piano Company was one of the earliest and largest piano manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While renowned for their own Brambach pianos, the Brambach Piano Factory also produced instruments for numerous other prominent American piano makers during the 1910s and 1920s under private labeling contracts. With the capability to build pianos in large quantities, Brambach maintained a reputation for consistent, high-quality craftsmanship. Today, their pianos, especially those restored, are highly regarded, as many of the finest pianos in American history were crafted in the Brambach factory under these secret agreements.

It’s taken many names, shapes and forms over the centuries – a tête-à-tête ("head-to-head”), the conversation chair, the courting bench, a chaperone chair, the vis-à-vis, gossip chair or the indiscreet.
Considered the pinnacle of sophistication and style during the Gilded and Victorian age, if you were entertaining the fashionable elite, one simply wasn’t running a home worth visiting without a conversation chair in one’s parlor.
This one adorns the grand hall at MenNefer. John gifted this one to Kimberly over twenty years ago, and she treasures it.

Merging our family history with the history of MenNefer.
These antique irons belonged to John's Mother and have been passed down for generations. They sat on his childhood fireplace mantle and now sit on the mantle in the Parlor. We are proud to celebrate her by sharing them with MenNefer's visitors.

MenNefer's Grand Hall Water Closet!
This small space contains a high-tank toilet that you flush by pulling a chain. The first high-tank toilets were installed in private homes during the Victorian era. The tanks had to be high, because they used gravity to build up water pressure to flush.
