Good advice from another local small business

As we prepare for the next several days of Cold and Freezing Conditions here are some recommendations to protect your home, water softener and filtration equipment during the winter.

✔ Wrap all exposed pipes located outside or in unheated areas of your home

✔ Remove garden hoses from your outside faucets and insulate the faucet with a styrofoam or insulated designated faucet cover.

✔ Cover vents around the foundation of your house.

✔ Water softeners should be protected and covered from freezing temperatures if located outside.

✔ If enclosed by shed with top cover or door, be sure to latch and secure if applicable to prevent high winds from exposing the unit from accidental opening.

✔ In sustained sub-freezing weather, let water drip STEADY from the inside faucets in your home.

✔ Keep heat on at 65 degrees or higher in your home

✔ Open cabinet doors below sinks to keep warm air circulating around plumbing.
