It doesn't matter if you say, "Feliz Navidad", "Joyeux Noel", "Frohe Weihnachten", or "Buon Natale", it’s still Merry Christmas! Christmas is celebrated all over the world in many, many different ways. Help us spark the magic of Christmas and the excitement of the season during the Miracles Christmas Parade. Please join us on 34th Street in Lubbock for our version of "A Family Christmas." The para

de starts promptly at 6:00 PM and includes lighted units for that extra special effect. Spectators start gathering early in the evening to get the perfect spot to watch marching bands, fire trucks, families, beauty queens, horses, dozens of decorated floats, honored guest and much more. The primary reason for the parade is to give back to the community and to promote an atmosphere of family fun, family entertainment, and togetherness. Each year, the parade will benefit the United States Marines “Toys for Tots”. Each year, we will work to make Christmas a magical season for families on the South Plains, and a time of sharing with those in need. There will be a "Toys for Tots" campaign conducted by the U.S. Marines and the Miracles Christmas Parade. Families will be invited to bring toys to the parade. Marines will march along the route and collect toys from the attending families. Together, the citizens of Lubbock and surrounding communities will "Fill the Float". Hot chocolate, coffee, and hot apple cider will be sold at various locations along the parade route to benefit Lubbock charitable organizations. Including Lubbock Independent School Bands. The Miracles Christmas Parade promises to become one of the largest and most important events in the region. Over 30,000 people attending the parade each year. Each year, the event will grow until it is the primary Christmas event in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Families have begun a tradition of "camping out" at the same location each year. Spectators will gather along 34th Street to enjoy this new holiday event.

This year's 18th Annual Miracles Christmas Parade was a remarkable success, marking one of our largest gatherings to date. The theme, "A Twinkle Of Hope," set the stage for a vibrant competition among entries, judged on their originality, public appeal, craftsmanship, color scheme, lighting, animation, and sound, culminating in an overall assessment of each float.

The competition was fierce, with some of the top ten floats scoring within half a point of each other. Team Bama triumphed with First Place, followed by D&H United Fueling Solutions in Second, and Women Veterans of America securing Third Place. This close scoring is a testament to the exceptional quality and creativity displayed by all participants.

Judges for the event were esteemed representatives from Texas Tech Administration, Trinity Christian School, and Frost Brewhouse, bringing a diverse range of perspectives to the judging process.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who dedicated their time and effort to the parade. Beyond the competition, this event played a crucial role in supporting the United States Marines' Toys for Tots program. More importantly, it brought joy and smiles to numerous children and families along 34th Street, embodying the true spirit of the holiday season.

One of Lubbock’s largest and most loved Christmas events is Saturday night in central Lubbock, the 18th Annual Miracles Christmas Parade at 6:00pm. The parade theme is “A Twinkle of Hope.” Thousands of spectators are expected, especially to honor and pay tribute to this year’s Grand Marshalls, representatives of all our local first responder organizations.

Representatives of each local agency are Lubbock Police Department Officer Brandon Hamilton with his wife and two children; Emergence Medical Service Nolan Roberts with his wife and two children; Lubbock Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Kelly Rowe and his wife; Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. J***y Bures with his wife and two kids; and Lubbock Fire Rescue represented by the widow of Firefighter Matt Dawson, Chanda Dawson and her daughter Preslee.

All the Grand Marshalls will ride on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages float, our Grand Marshall Sponsor each year.
Allen Ruff with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages said, ”This year we have the honor and privilege to join forces with the first responders of Lubbock and their families. We especially welcome Matt Dawson’s wife Chanda and their daughter Preslee Dawson. Matt was a well-known hero within the Lubbock Fire Department and an inspiration to many as he gave his community a Twinkle of Hope no matter what obstacles life put in his way.”

Parade organizers are also announcing we will have two Honor Guards heading up the parade. The first is local Cub Scout Pack 593. The second is the all-agency Honor Guard with representatives from the Lubbock Police Department, Texas Tech Police Department, Lubbock Fire Rescue, and the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department.

We welcome and salute the marching bands from all Lubbock high schools who will assemble and march as one unified band unit during the event.

The nighttime, lighted parade features Santa Claus and more than 30 parade units, including more than 20 floats from area businesses and non-profit groups. The lighted parade is free of charge for spectators. The parade route is down 34th Street starting at Avenue Q and going west to Indiana Avenue. Parade Chairman is Jason Davis and one of several Wrangler volunteers who produce and host the event.

The parade is a United States Marine Toys For Tots event to gather unwrapped toys for needy children in this area. Spectators are urged to bring unwrapped toys to give to the walking Marines during the parade itself.

Make plans to attend this fun and free event this Saturday, December 9, 2023. Visit the parade website at www.miraclesparade.com for details.

I was incredibly honored to receive a plaque from the Lubbock Independent School District, recognizing the Miracles Christmas Parade for our involvement in their Fourth of July parade trip to Washington DC last year. It was a truly special experience.

The Miracles Christmas Parade made a contribution of $3000 to the Lubbock ISD bands. The combined bands of Coronado, Monterey, Estacado, and Lubbock High had the opportunity to participate in the prestigious 4th of July parade in our nation's capital.

The volunteers of the Miracles Parade and our sponsors have always been strong supporters of the outstanding music programs in our schools. We are immensely grateful to LISD for presenting us with this beautiful plaque. We sincerely hope to see your fantastic organizations participating in this year's parade on December 9th.

An RV, recreational vehicle, or motor coach can make a huge improvement for the summer for several reasons. Firstly, it provides a comfortable and convenient way to travel to different destinations, allowing you to take all the comforts of home with you. This is especially important when traveling with family or friends, as it can be a cost-effective way to accommodate everyone.

Secondly, an RV provides a great platform for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, or fishing. Instead of having to pack and unpack every day, you can set up camp at a scenic location and spend more time enjoying the great outdoors.

Thirdly, an RV can be an excellent way to explore new destinations, whether it's a national park, a beach, or a city. You can avoid the hassle of booking hotels and flights and instead travel at your own pace, stopping wherever and whenever you like.

Lastly, an RV can be a great way to spend quality time with family and friends. Whether it's a long road trip or a weekend getaway, an RV provides an opportunity to bond over shared experiences and create lasting memories.

As a parade sponsor, we love to promote a local company like Performance Motorcoaches RV and Marine and showcase products to a wide audience. With your own eye-catching design and high visibility, an RV can be affective way to stand out from your friends, family and any crowd.

Overall, an RV, recreational vehicle, or motor coach can be a great investment that provides endless opportunities for adventure, relaxation, and family fun.

They have some amazing products.

From all of us on the Miracles Christmas Parade committee, we wish you a very Merry Christmas.

CHRISTMAS FACTS:

The movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” was a box office flop. It wasn’t until 1974, when its copyright expired and TV networks could air it for free, that it became a beloved Christmas movie.

Will Ferrell consumed so much sugar while filming “Elf” that he actually became physically ill.

In Slovakia, it is a tradition to keep “Christmas Carp” in the family bathtub for a few days before they are eaten.

Although gingerbread houses date back to the 1600s, the tradition became widespread in Germany after the story of Hansel and Gretel was published in 1812.

The Elf on the Shelf was inspired by the creators’ own toy elf, Fisher, who they grew up with in the 1970s.

Paul McCartney earns about $400,000 each year from his song ‘Wonderful Christmastime’, which is widely regarded as his worst song.
