Four Directions Alchemy ~ A Metaphysical Marketplace and Spiritual Growth Center

How did the shop get its name? Let’s break it down and you will see the inspiration to my creative naming of the business.

Finding Wholeness: Exploring the Four Directions in Our Lives

Have you ever looked at a compass and felt a sense of awe? The four directions – north, south, east, and west – are more than just geographical points. Across cultures and spiritual traditions, they hold deep symbolic meaning, reminding us of our place in the universe and the interconnectedness of everything around us.

Nature’s Compass: Balance and Wholeness

Imagine the four directions as the framework of our lives. North might represent wisdom and guidance, like the steady North Star. South could symbolize passion and grounding, connecting us to the earth. East signifies new beginnings and growth, the promise of a rising sun. And west embodies endings and reflection, a time to pause and learn from the past. Living a balanced and whole life means acknowledging and nurturing all these aspects.

Sacred Space: Connecting with the Unseen

In many rituals and prayers, acknowledging the four directions creates a sacred space. It’s a way of connecting with the unseen forces of the universe, the spirits or energies associated with each direction. This practice helps us feel centered and reminds us that we’re part of something larger than ourselves.

Interestingly, the concept of the four directions also finds a parallel in alchemy. Though traditionally focused on turning base metals into gold, alchemy symbolizes a deeper transformation – the evolution of the alchemist themself. Just as the four directions represent different aspects of life, the alchemist works with the four elements (fire, water, air, and earth) to achieve inner purification and spiritual growth.

Even today, the metaphors and symbolism of alchemy continue to inspire those on a spiritual path. We can view the transformation of metals as a metaphor for overcoming negative traits or transforming our lives for the better.

The Call of the Four Directions

The four directions are a powerful reminder that we are part of something larger than ourselves. By acknowledging their symbolic meaning, we can cultivate a sense of balance, wholeness, and connection in our lives. So, take a moment, close your eyes, and feel the pull of the four directions. Yes, this is legit. Since I discovered Reiki and was attuned to Levels I & II I have felt that every person would benefit from this amazing energy healing practice.

How I ended up with the $99 Usui Reiki Master package. When I discovered Reiki and decided to be attuned all I could find were attunements broken into 2 -3 - 4 classes with fees amounting to a couple thousand dollars or more. Coming from a lower economic place the going rate appeared like it was gatekeeping for people with a lot of discretionary cash. About 3 years later I stumbled upon a mediumship class that was including Reiki I & II attunement. Bonus! In this class I found a group of women who were of the same mindset as me - let's make it affordable and spread the goodness! I went on to get my Master attunement from the same teacher. In 2018 I also found another teacher offering a wide range of home-study, distance attunement classes at affordable prices.

Fast-forward to 2020 and I finally have time to develop other aspects of my business and I decide to add energy healing. I start my practice. In 2023 I'm asked to teach and attune someone to Reiki. I agree to do this. This student ended up not following through, but I stayed on the teacher path - created the work book, set up the on-line shop, and started offering the $99.00 Usui Reiki Master home-study with distance attunement package.

Offering all 3 levels in one attunement as well as at this price point is not unusual. Mr. Usui did all 3 levels in one attunement. And he gave it away for free! It was after Mr. Usui that the fees and multilevel attunement started and became the norm.

So, this is real. I am good at it. I am available to provide guidance during your studies and into your future practice.

This healing modality is for everyone. You do not need to be a healer or have a public practice. Reiki is perfect for self-care use in all areas of your life.

They are Your Mirror - blog post

I have always hated this statement. I have been in relationships with people who turn out to be judgmental, racist, chronically angry and depressed, unmotivated, shallow, vain, unwilling to learn or take action, substance abusers, and immersed in victim mentality.

I have honestly resented “spiritual” teachers, mentors, and even memes that say the person is my mirror or mirroring back to me what I’m putting out energetically or physically. Maybe I just needed to think about it another way. Or maybe I just plain misunderstood the true meaning of what mirroring is?

Recovering from a relationship that was comfortable without passion, my thoughts are figure out your needs and be honest with your partner. Communication is key to any longterm relationship, but when you start to feel unseen or unheard communication is the only way to fix it.

A good relationship is one that has passion, attraction and chemistry as well as a certain level of stability, comfort and ease. Ideally we would have both but it begs the question: Is it better to be in a relationship that's comfortable but not passionate or one that's passionate but not always comfortable?
