🔥 Wrap-Up of the BBQ & Chili Cook-Off! 🔥

What a smokin' weekend we've had at the 34th Annual Chili & BBQ Cook-Off! We want to extend a huge thank you to all the head cooks and teams who brought their A-game making this event a sizzling success.

The Competition Heats Up:

This year, we had an incredible turnout with 109 head cooks/teams registered to show off their skills Amidst fierce competition. Of those 109 teams, 99 of these talented grill masters competed in the IBCA (International Barbecue Cookers Association) Sanctioned portion. They were dead set on showcasing the best BBQ this side of Texas.

Brisket: 70

Prizes and Praise:

The stakes were high, with roughly $6,800 in prize money up for grabs. The competition was fierce, but in the end, top winners emerged, proving their exceptional grill master skills and taking home not just a share of the prize money but also the glory of being the best among the best.

We extend our congratulations to all the winners - your dedication to the craft of barbecue and chili-making has truly paid off. To all the participants, we applaud your passion and the energy you brought to the cook-off. Your efforts have made this event a huge success.

A massive thank you to our judges, who had the challenging task of selecting the winners from such an impressive lineup of entries. Your expertise and fairness have been invaluable.

Lastly, none of this would have been possible without our amazing community of sponsors, volunteers, and attendees. Your support and enthusiasm are what make this event special year after year.

Tomorrow (Thursday) marks the start of cook team set ups!!

So far, everyone has done really well… knock on wood… 😅 It only took me 6 years of throw downs. 🤪 Patience and persistence finally paying off. 😏

***** MARKING SPACES! ****
If you tape off space, you need to move a camper/pit in the same day. No marking spaces and leaving it marked for days. A lot of cooks mark/tape way more than they need. Please mark, then go get your stuff and put it in place. No marking on Thursday and then not showing until Saturday. That’s not fair to the ones that show up ready to go.

Major sponsors can start at Noon. Please check in at Museum so we can give you your stakes and signage.

Cooks start at 3pm in some blocks and 5pm in 400/500blocks Downtown.

Open – We provide container and foil. 14 bites. Lid must be closed at Turn-In. Can be turned in with or without foil. Must be cooked on site at your camp.

Exciting news! We're gearing up for the much-awaited Roughneck BBQ Cook-Off Museum Fundraiser and are still waiting on our 2024 Raffle Tickets to arrive. Until then, we decided to go ahead and open up online sales.

Here's how it works:

💰The event is a fundraiser for our non-profit Luling Oil Museum and all proceeds go directly back to the organization. The event is hosted by the Museum and wonderful sponsors in our community.

📆 Mark your calendars! As soon as the physical tickets arrive around February 8th, we'll be on top of things.
