With the recent passing of my stepfather, I’ve been reflecting on something deeply important. As a professional photographer, I realized there are moments I may have missed, even in my own family. A fellow member of the Kyle Chamber of Commerce has mentioned the importance of Legacy Portraits to me several times, and now, I truly understand why. Thankfully, I had captured a beautiful portrait of my stepfather with the experience and care I pour into my work. But it made me wonder—how many families only have quick snapshots on their phones to remember their loved ones by?

I’ve also experienced the heartbreak of losing another family member years ago. We had planned to take their portrait during Thanksgiving, but it was postponed, seen as something we could do later. Sadly, they passed away just two weeks later, and that portrait never happened.

This isn’t an easy topic, and it’s not one we often think about, but having a timeless portrait for your loved ones to hold onto is a true gift—one that lasts for generations. If you’d like to create a lasting memory through a Legacy Portrait, please reach out today. 💙
