What is a true friend? A true friend is someone who loves and supports you through life's challenges, even when it's difficult. They give hard but valuable advice, stand by you when others leave, and care about you holistically. Real friendships require self-sacrifice and unconditional love. Friendships are not based on the same expectations as relationships with family or partners. Proverbs 18:24 says “Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.” Friendship is also a fruit of godly virtue and a gift of God's grace, making it an important part of Christian discipleship. Today I pray for all of my friends, those from the sandbox Lanny and Tammy Leach, Cynthia Smith Martin. Rhonda Moore Thompson from middle school. Pat Blue my FHS friend, Judith Belton and my Hampton Friends, co worker friends, sorority sisters, church friends, friends Vernon gave me; Steve and Darnella, Sophisticated Ladies Book Club members. Las Amigas friends, and others You appointed, in my life and only You know why You picked them; Billie Ann, Angela, Angela B, Deborah, Barbara, and Jewel Long. Lord Jesus, Thank you for giving me such a vibrant community of friends to do life with. I praise you for the people you have blessed me with, the ones who have come along to love, encourage, support, and uplift me through all the twists and turns of my life. I'm so grateful that I do not have to go through life alone, you have shown me your love through my friends. I pray that you will always be present in my friendships, and that you would draw us together in deeper community with one another and unity with you. I pray that you will heal any places of brokenness in my friendships, and that you would restore any friendships that have fallen apart. This I ask, in Jesus’ name. Amen
I love you!
