The latest and greatest - take that Johnny Gott!

**PLANNING COMMISSION HAS BEEN SERVED** **HERE'S WHAT THAT MEANS**

On September 18th, Save Lusby, Inc along with our attorney, G. Macy Nelson and Alex Votaw (from Towson, MD and NOT a local office to the tri-county area) served the Calvert County Planning Commissioners with a Petition for Judicial Review.

What does this mean? LUSBY VILLAS DEVELOPMENT IS FORCED TO STOP WHILE WE BEGIN THE LEGAL PROCESS! But this is an APPEAL, it's not the official lawsuit. It does mean that we are going to be requesting a judicial review of the approval and planning of the Lusby Villas.

Now the work begins! The Planning Commissioners have 60 days to provide to the Calvert Circuit Court all documentation for the Lusby Villas so that Nelson and their representative can begin laying the groundwork for the lawsuit.

Day 61, (which is estimated November 19th, or whenever the Circuit Court gets the files) we have 30 days to submit our Opening Brief. THIS is where with our attorney, we will lay out in detail where we have our case.

Planning Commissioners then have 30 days after our Opening Brief to respond (Estimated December 19th or when we submit our Opening Brief).

We will then have 15 days to respond to their Opening Brief (Estimated January 19, 2025) before oral arguments begin. Those will likely begin March of 2025.

As a reminder to our supporters and followers - we are ready for the fight! We will need to continue to educate to everyone in the area what the issues with the Lusby Villas are (because its not just "an apartment complex"), and continue to raise funds for the cause!

Our $5000 retainer will chip away quickly especially when we are in the Opening Brief and response waves of the suit. Once we have Oral Arguments, we will be pulling all the knowledge bases to defend our case.

Be warned - all of Lusby is going to be screwed if this 276 unit apartment building gets built. The schools are over crowded and there will be increased traffic. Most households have 2 vehicles, so 276 x 2 = 552

I heard Gott is unable to secure private bank loans, so if the government loans him money, it will all be low income Section 8 housing. Hardly fancy "villas"
