Being here and taking photographs to remember all the little moments and details of this trip has me so excited to take that same energy into my next weddings! I love the way details build a narrative and the way they can take you back to specific place and time 💛

Details! I love bringing details together at the beginning of a wedding. It’s usually the first thing I photograph and creating these images makes me so happy. Things like your wedding rings, invitation, perfume, shoes, etc. come together to create a tiny snapshot of your wedding and give context to the style and tone of your celebration. I love imagining you and your loved ones looking through a wedding album years later and being able to know what perfume you wore, what earrings you picked, and what your flowers looked like 🤍

This rock roll wedding has officially been blogged! I’m still not over how cool Alexis and Chris are + how much fun they had celebrating their love! It doesn’t hurt that we also got to step into the live theater stage and historic auditorium for couple’s portraits 😌

Getting ready. There’s a reason I like showing up during the getting ready process on a wedding day.

One it gives everyone a chance to get comfortable with me and the fact that there’s a camera in the room. It also is a great way for me to get in tune with the overall vibe and personalities.

Second I love the way getting ready images add to the story of the day and give a gallery depth. There are little details that say a lot and having the chance to capture those + real interactions as they unfold is wonderful. It’s a great idea to set aside an hour or so of your photography coverage to have these moments captured 🤍

Wedding details! ✨ One of the first things I photograph at the start of a wedding day! I love layering everything from your invitation, to perfume, to shoes etc together. Why do I take time to do this? (And it does take time! Usually about 30min to get everything into an aesthetically pleasing order) Because to me, these details are things you spent time and effort picking out, sometimes there’s a sentimental component to at least one of the items, and to me these detail shots are a collage of your wedding representing the months of time spent planning and dreaming of this day.

It reminds me of the knowledge that comes out of an archeological dig; giving clues to the type of people lived in a certain place and what mattered most to them.

Details! ✨ My favorite thing to begin photographing on a wedding day. Rings, invitation, florals, shoes, perfume; it’s a microcosm of your wedding. It’s taken me years of hovering over wedding bands, trying to balance them in an aesthetic way on a flower petal (sweating bullets and trying not to let my hands shake) to create the kind of flat lays that make me happy. I’m so thankful for couples who get as excited as I do for these shots!

I can’t believe we’re through October! This has been the busiest, most awesome year, I’m so excited for the next few months though. I took a leap recently (read; terrifying, but exciting. I’ve been dreaming about doing this for the last few years), and I can’t wait to see how things change and level up in my work and business 💫
