YAMATO is a Japanese Taiko drumming group based in Asuka-mura Nara Prefecture which is well known by Japanese people as the hometown of Japan. They call themselves “YAMATO, the Taiko drumming group that travels all over the world”. They have given more than 4,500 shows across 54 countries around the world since their formation in 1993.

YAMATO’s Taiko work cannot be fully described by the word “performance”. They have performed in theaters, schools, all types of events, and even held workshops and Taiko lessons. They are spending a half year on a Japan tour and a half year for the world tour. Their motto is “We go everywhere when somebody needs YAMATO! And bringing energy to the people living in the world!”. They bring joy to the world.

Start November off right with Art + Music + Comedy on First Friday!

On November 1 from 5 - 8 PM, join us in the Harrington Gallery to celebrate the opening of our latest exhibits. In the Ann White Gallery: Ashley Marot's Mixed Media Paintings and Richard Marot's Photography. In The Up Front Gallery, "Seldom Paired" - Dotti Stone's Mosaics and Barry Koplen's Photography & Poetry. The event will feature live music by Dirt Road Reverie.

Later in the evening, join Colin Mochrie & Asad Mecci in the Historic Theatre for HYPROV: Improv under Hypnosis, starting at 7:30 PM, or stop by The Music Hall for the first of two nights of performances by Chamomile & Whiskey, starting at 8:00 PM.

Join us for Animation Festival 2025: A Celebration of Chuck Jones on January 18, 2025.

Enjoy an exciting array of pre-film activities in the lobby, including local food trucks, hands-on art activities, and a special exhibit of original Chuck Jones character studies and cell animations, brought to us by The Daura Gallery from the University of Lynchburg.

The festival will feature a curated selection of Jones’ iconic work including his directorial debut The Night Watchman (1938), and beloved classics like Scaredy Cat (1948) and Rabbit Hood (1949), featuring characters such as Porky Pig, Sylvester, and Bugs Bunny.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Milton on the band members of Classic Skynyrd Live, the band's performance originally scheduled for this Friday, October 18, at 7:30 PM has been postponed to April 11, 2025 at 7:30 PM.

Ticketholders: Your event tickets will be automatically carried over for the rescheduled event. If you are unable to attend the new date, please check your email and contact the Box Office on how you would like to proceed.
