WEATHER THAT MAKES YOU SAY "BLUCK!" and other news
A good Monday morning fellow north Whatcom Countians!
Just a reminder that North Pacific Concrete Pumping Inc. is the presenting sponsor of the THE OFFICIAL 2024 NORTHWEST LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE Saturday, December 7th starting at 6 p.m. at the Fairway Center Lynden, then heading east on Front Street to Third Street in downtown Lynden, and if you will be entering in to this fine holiday event, getting your entry form information in would be greatly appreciated!
See lynden dot org for more information!

+ The "Driver's of Christmas" from Lynden Transport are darned close to arriving in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree they are delivering from Alaska, right on time! Not to be bragging up all things Lynden, but please note that when the U.S. Government needed something to be delivered safe and sound, under budget and on time, they called in Lynden, Inc. to do so.

+ No Parade Day Breakfast with Sinterklaas this year, as the Lynden Community/Senior Center is getting some much needed work on the inside to keep operations up and running for the long term, but don't forget the Lynden Fire Department's annual Pasta Feed Fundraiser the later afternoon/ early evening of the Lighted Parade, more details to come.

+ About that weather: Yes, we talk a lot about the weather on these pages, but more on "why" later.
The important info to know is that we're likely in for some copious amount of rain, and possibly some serious "Was that a garbage cart that just passed us?" winds from the northeast Tuesday afternoon-ish to Wednesday.
Shouldn't be the Arctic "freeze the buns cold" we'll have later in later winter, though it is expected the farther south and directly in the Cascade Range gaps on is, the more the wind is going to play havoc with trees, power lines, unsecured patio furniture, and Grandma's bouffant, much more so then here.
In addition to Whatcom County Weather, we like to follow the great UW Weather Forecaster Cliff Mass at https://cliffmass.blogspot.com , and the legendary and oft followed Rufus La Lone at https://www.ovs.com/blogs/the-wxcafe to stay as informed as possible weather-wise.
It still may be unexpectedly more interesting, so get that Puget Sound Energy (Also a Lighted Parade Supporting Sponsor!) downloaded on your phone and other smart device, not just to report potential issues, but to see where problems are and estimated repair times, and maybe if you're so inclined and have a generator, fill the gas can with some Ethanol-Free from CHSNorthwestHQ Fuel Store located at Third and Main Street's, and dump in the proper amount of Sta-Bil or Sea Foam fuel treatment, to keep your gas engines (Use on the lawn mower, too!) running well when they aren't being used as often.
Available at S & H Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Parts - Lynden, and Lynden Ace Hardware.

That's it for today! Get those parade entry forms in, please, and just like a well delivered Christmas tree, YOU are loved!

IF ONE DRIVES out to Birch Bay from Lynden, though we suppose the opposite direction is also true, Faith Community Church hosts a small house of worship, one many locals who have been around for some time recall being located at the southeast corner of the Guide Meridian and Badger Road intersection, one of countless small roadside chapels dotting the highways across the nation, most often hosted in rural areas, small places of respite for a traveler's weary mind and soul.
Every so often the Wayside Chapel was home to small yet joyous weddings, a rare though not unheard of funeral service or two, but often as a tiny roadside curiosity, a spot to let the youngsters run off a bit of steam as much as a place for a driver to get out and stretch the bones and rest the eyes, someone just "passing through".
We are so blessed to have many houses of worship in and around this community of ours, and while they are each unique and special in their own way, be it in architecture, worship style, message, rituals and traditions, one thing they all hold in common is they are a place of rest for the weary life traveler, a place to give thanks, and to recharge the spirit for the continued journey ahead, be it with a large gathering of folks, or a space where two or three are gathered together, to give praise and to share love.
So, next time you're heading out on Birch Bay Lynden Road, be it this way or that, take a look at that little church, and remind yourself that what one sees from the outside generally doesn't reflect all the greatness that is contained within.
Including you, because just like those Wayside Chaple's across this Nation, you're here, right here, for a reason.

God bless, may the week ahead bring you love and peace in overwhelming abundance, and yes, just like a tiny church on the side of the road, YOU are loved!

THE LYNDEN SATURDAY MORNING POST: VW Take Over Edition
Good Saturday morning to all!
In news to our west, Mike and the folks at Van Wingerden Home & Garden on Portal Way, north of Bob's Burgers & Brew, Birch Bay, has a greenhouse or two of full of poinsettias ready for your Fa-la-la-ing seasonal decorating, using a plant whose name is mispronounced by nearly as many people as mispronounce the name of a former presidential candidate.
C'mon, it's the only election related ha-ha we made in 2024, and we're still not sure we pronounce either correctly. Moving on...

* A reminder that the Red Barn Market Events Fall Market at the fairgrounds is operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, though last night at the VIP Dave the Flower Man's Van Vino Winery was on-site pouring a little something for those who enjoy a sip o' the grape whilst shopping, serving a wonderful variety of quality wine!
Still will be great, and the Red Barn Market Sale is only $5 at the door, so please come early for the best selection of goods and wine!

* It's water fowl season for those wondering about the boom-booms in the a.m.'s, and one only need meander to into Dave's Sports Shop to see enough camo clad folks saving on their ammo and dressed in tall boots with wide smiles to know many are having a good season, though not sure how many will be having Thanksgiving goos on the table.
We love having and hosting Happy Hunters!

* Speaking of the upcoming holiday, be real nice if those entering the THE OFFICIAL 2024 NORTHWEST LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE did so before Thanksgiving, it would be wonderfully helpful for planning purposes.
Our thanks again to Marlin, Becki and the North Pacific Concrete Pumping Inc. team for being our presenting sponsor in bringing this annual "Kick Off to Christmas" to the Great Northwest!

* We're having a Christmas Bicycle Giveaway to... well, give away a youngsters bike, with help from Lenny's Bike Shop at the Fairway Center Lynden. Photos of the bike will be coming soon!

* Make sure to visit Monte, Heidi and the crew at Grocery Outlet for your all baking needs, the best "keep your cash in your wallet" money saving advice anyone can give or get this Christmas season.

Enough for today, time to get a move on, places to go, people to see, cookies to be eaten, chores to do. Regardless of what's on your calendar today, remember, even more then a greenhouse full of colorful "poin-sĕt′ē-ə", YOU are loved!

TODAY IS FRIDAY, which is two weeks from now Wednesday in Dog Years
Looks like quite the shopping shindig at the Red Barn Market Events Holiday Market at the The Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center this weekend, this evening 6 to 9, tomorrow 9-4, $5 to get in the door.
If you haven't been, it is truly quite the experience and really is a great way to find unique and meaningful gifts for those on the receiving end, or a little something for yourself if you find it.
For instance, we understand that Ms. Lori of Petal Pushers Flower Truck will be just one of the many fine vendors at this year's market, and we suggest picking up a little something to brighten the table today, AND a somethin'-somethin' for the upcoming family gatherings.
And you know, if you're down towards the Fairway Center Lynden anyway, are feeling the shopping spirit upon you, and have already entered the Lynden Ace Hardware and Oostema Wagyu Beef, Lynden Beef and BBQ giveaway, meander over to Surroundings Home, Gifts and Garden, under the windmill end, and check out what Ms. Christa and the team have stocked the store with the best seasonal home decor, though we would be remiss not mention what we consider by far the all-time, best-ever wonderful candle selection, in part because they don't all smell like somebody dumped potpourri onto a pumpkin pie in the middle of a pine forest and turned it into an essential oil with hints of earth.

Pro Tip: When the candle you got Mama has KEEP AWAY FROM OPEN FLAME and MAY CONTAIN DOLPHIN written on the side, in 4 different languages, none of which are yours, you may not be sending the love you think, and should switch to shopping at Surroundings for candles that are quality made, not overbearing nor underwhelming in the scent category, AND, they last a long time, an especially nice feature when the nights are longer and the temperatures hover around the "my knees hurt and toes are cold" mark.

And if you're in the 'hood, Just Desserts by Lynden Dutch Bakery, and grab a delicious Cinnamon roll for Sunday morning, to enjoy before the morning service with a fresh cup of coffee, a nicely scented candle, and bit of reading time, in that book that likes to tell you that YOU are loved!

MANY, MANY MOONS ago, far more then we care to recall, or can count given the time available, the current location of Fullner Food Service Contracting LLC (Get your wood pellets for that Thanksgiving smoked turkey!) on Walnut Street, just west of the Northwest Propane tanks, was the Albers Feed Farm store, the sibling store of the Albers bulk feed division on Second Street, which was just north of the train tracks, just south of where the Lynden LTI, Inc., Milky Way, supporting sponsor of the THE OFFICIAL 2024 NORTHWEST LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE tankers park.
The Walnut Street store was the place a youngster could get a pair of decent barn boots, usually the black pair, with a wide red ring around the top. This was fairly common multifunctional seasonal foot wear amongst youngsters, for as fall waned and winter approached, they kept the feet dry, not to be confused in any way with warm, unless one was wearing brand new, nice and thick itchy wool socks.

Good for use in the barnyard and schoolyard, and a darned sight better then bread sack tied around the shoes and calves, in an attempt to keep the good shoes good and the feet dry.
Now one can go to the CHSNorthwestHQ and still get a really good pair of boots, and especially for those ladies who are a touch more fashionable then what "rubber tire black" may offer, the selection is excellent, with various colors, decorative themes, and even floral patterns on the inside, so one can do a nice roll of top downwards, a "boot cuff" if you will, though we ourselves tend to get into "it" deep enough that the higher the boot, the better. On occasion Foxxy Brown's Women's Consignment Store has a pair or two, also, as will Second Chance Thrift Store. Cheeks in downtown Lynden might have a pair or two in stock, though we're not sure on that as ever since we accidentally though rather loudly knocked several pairs of fancy onderbroeks off the rack, well, we're not the browser type of shopper we once were, how about we put it that way.

Anyway, as silly as it may sound, we still like to use barn boots, rubber boots, keep the tootsie's dry wear, whatever one likes to call 'em, as a gauge of if us locals are "keepin' it real" as some would say, though perhaps "true to our roots" might be a better term. If in the fall and winter seasons, when one walks in to the The Fairway Cafe' for a bite of breakfast with a friend, or maybe enters the dwelling space of the Knights of the Roundtable of Wisdom and Knowledge at the Dutch Treat Restaurant for a tasty burger, or Wednesday night Youth Group, or yes, at the farm store getting some more dog food (best price in town, FYI), and there are a plethora of booted feet, most pant legs tucked in, some not, and more "one leg in, in leg out" folks then there should be, we're doing just fine.
To us it means we're still practical folks, we're still comfortable with who we are, a slight touch of city, with a whole lot of rural, not afraid to be different or think for ourselves, to be ourselves.

Though somebody should let the "one pant leg up, one down" crowd know their one misstep away from getting snow in their boot and a wet sock, will lead to a bread sack around the foot.
Ah, never mind. They'll figure it out eventually, wet feet or not.

God bless, enjoy your day, and like dry warm toes on a cool wet day, YOU are loved!

ABOUT THAT WIND...
+ The Lynden Chamber of Commerce Severe Weather Disruptor Posts seem to continue to be a thing, wherein when we post attempting to give a heads up to an upcoming weather event, such weather never comes to fruition. The Puget Sound Energy Outage Map shows all is mostly well in Western WA, so we'll say "storm averted".
+ Red Barn Market Events aptly named Red Barn Holiday Market happens this Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the WECU Expo and Peoples Bank (WA) Farm Pavillion Building located at the The Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center, $5 tickets available online, with over 100 vendors to make Christmas shopping a touch easier!

+ Jansen Art Center present Bill Anschell Peru Reunion Trio concert this Saturday, November 16th, 7 p.m. Admission is $30, and if your curious as to what they sounds like, here's a nice relaxing video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_jwZptrdZA

+ Have you voted for the Lynden Tribune Best of Lynden, recognizing your favorite businesses and the folks who serve you? You pick 'em, we all celebrate 'em.

+ Insert ballot counting joke here. We want to, but...

+ PLEASE get your entry form in for THE OFFICIAL 2024 NORTHWEST LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE soon, as the Parade is Saturday, December 7, starting at 6 p.m. We already have some interesting new entries and some traditional ones, too.
Thanks to Weather Randy for the great photo. We hold a parade, he takes snaps. We call that a win/win!

+ And just a reminder, one that will absolutely make some folks lose their minds, there will be NO, ZERO, NONE, NADA candy throwing during the parade.
Yes, we know, we hate it too, but after some walking threatened legal action last year, you can imagine what our insurance company and the City of Lynden's insurance company had to say.

Short version: The City's insurance policy does not allow them to authorize an event where they know there is a high likelihood of anything, including candy, being thrown during at others during said event, or they will not be insured, and we cannot be insured by our insurance if our event is not permitted by the City, and we cannot not be insured, and due to the aforementioned legal action, now we can't "authorize" people to walk alongside their units.
So, yeah, that's where we sit, and yes, we said not nice words that may cause us to coal in our stocking.

+ But candy or not, YOU are loved, and that's something they cannot take away!

BREEZY TUESMONDAY: A Tuesday That For Some Will Feel Like Monday
+ Looks as if on this Tuesday following the Veterans Day holiday our friends at the US National Weather Service Seattle Washington office have issued a "High Wind Warning" starting at 4 p.m. this evening until 4 a.m. tomorrow, which should make for a wonderful evening's rest for those gently lulled to sleep by the sound of objects flying about, especially those fortunate enough to have Nooksack Valley Disposal & Recycling, Inc. pick up and recycling day tomorrow.

+ Not to sound too dramatic, but Carl's Mower & Saw has still has a variety of chainsaws in stock for those interested, and at great wallet-friendly prices for those with a touch of Paul Bunyan in their souls. Just seems like the possibility of trees falling down is a good time to remind folks about Carl's chainsaws AND a classic American folk tale that involves huge flannel shirts and giant oddly-colored horned cattle named "Babe".

+ Don't forget to drop off your monetary donation at Brown & Brown Lynden (formerly SSk Insurance) in downtown Lynden for their annual community Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, which Ms. Bobbi says ends the 18th of November. This long-time annual Lynden fundraiser is way in which folks in our area who are able give to those who may be having a struggle during the holidays the opportunity to fix themselves up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, though we understand the B&B folks are also providing a chicken option for those not wanting Turkey leftovers for 27 days straight.
So please chip in if you're able to do so, and unlike the recent political season, you will not receive 12 texts a day asking for more.

+ Speaking of insurance companies and things that never fly flying, please secure your trampoline, and you may want to check with your insurance carrier on coverage should said trampoline decide to take flight. We speak from $2,743 worth of experience, FYI.
Also, watching one's trampoline take flight elicits the same verbal reaction as seeing a giant blue ox eating grass raise its tail high into the air.
As they say, if you know, you know.

* Help with the Turkey Drive if you can, hopefully the wind passes without ever becoming a thing (Generally if we post it, it never happens), and unlike flying objects, YOU are loved!

ON THIS SPECIAL DAY, set aside by an act of Congress to honor those women and men who gave their time, skills and talents to serve their fellow citizens in the military forces of the United States of America, we humbly give our thanks, yes, to all veterans, but to Marcus, and Lonnie, and Maria, and Versil, to Ladd, and Ken, and Lisa, and Tatania, to Jose, and Ken, and so, so many others, not nameless unknown faces, but grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, husbands, neighbors and friends, a similar sacrifice by all yet impacting each one so differently, in manners we may not always appreciate nor understand.

So with a humble spirit we hope that each of you who served these great United States will accept our sincerest thanks, and we pray that you will be blessed beyond expectation, and though we may not say it often enough, your individual sacrifice is deeply appreciated, and please know that you are loved.

AS MANY OF YOU ARE AWARE, on Sunday mornings we generally try to share some thought expressing our appreciation of the place we call home, or a specific group or profession of some of the folks we are blessed to share our lives with, a wonderful diversity of cultures and people, languages and traditions, as well as the events and activities many of us have shared in the past and God willing, will continue to share for generations to come.
On this Sunday, we also happened to notice that the weather may be getting a bit more wet and windy than usual this afternoon and tomorrow, enough we thought "Do we forego the blessing post to share a head up about what may happen?", combined with "Everybody has a weather app. They'll know".
THEN we got the 1/2 a cup of coffee thought "Why not combine the two?"

So, heads up, the Environment Canada folks are giving a heads up for a dose of rain and wind starting tonight, AND we really want to express what a blessing it is to have folks like Randy and the Whatcom County Weather crew, the US National Weather Service Seattle Washington, Environment Canada and may others covering our backs by giving us a glimpse into the future, putting together high this and low thats, wind barbs and millibars, and when the conditions are not unlike that third bowl of porridge (JUST right!) endless questions about the where, when's, how much, and wind or no wind when the winter weather season is upon us, and is Randy going Nanook Ear cap or not? Living in one of the rather unique microclimates in the Northwest, an area full of unusual weather areas, it is just a wonderful comfort to have those folks for whom weather is a mystery to be divined, though with a number of "maybe's", "could's" and percentages and variabilities galore, but so it goes when trying to report on Ol' Ma Nature.

So a BIG THANK YOU to the weather folks, but it here in town or in some mysterious undisclosed location, keeping an eye on the sky for all of us living in the Fraser Flush pipeline. You are a blessing to all of us, and though we may not have shared it, we pray that your cups overflow with the blessings and love you all deserve.

Now, what winter REALLY looking like? There's a few cool little folks waiting for the white stuff to fall, and probably a few older ones as well.

God bless, have a great week regardless of what may come, and just like the Weather folk, YOU are loved!

THE LYNDEN SATURDAY MORNING POST: Beds & Beef Edition
While there is something to said about the surprisingly restful experience of kicking back on a warm Holstein in a bed of fresh straw and sawdust, the long, long wait is over, and our most recent frequently asked question finally has an answer:
The Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Lynden is now open for those who have overnight accommodation needs, complete with fitness facility, complimentary breakfast, AND..... wait for it.... something so many of you have wanted.... A POOL!
Check out their website, and book now if you're looking for a place to stay before and after THE OFFICIAL 2024 NORTHWEST LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE on December 7th, before they book out!

AND, this just keeps getting better, if you're looking for a spot for some wining and dining, the Wissota Chophouse - Lynden is now open as well, Tuesday - Saturday, 4 to 10 p.m.
We lean a bit "rib and reef' ourselves, so we'll probably start our evening with the Fig & Fried Honey Goat Cheese appetizer, then move on to the 14 ounce Ribeye with a 5 ounce Lobster Tail, with a Caprese Salad accompaniment, with a glass or two of Root Beer.
Yes, they also have the ales, the pales, the wines and the cocktails, should one prefer something aged upon the pallet.

Dessert is where we struggle on the decision tree:
Northwest Raspberry Tiramisu? Yes, please.
Towering Carrot Cake? Well, yes, that, too, depending on if the raspberry in the Raspberry Tiramisu is the sweet raspberry or the not so sweet raspberry.
Towering Chocolate Cake? Really, messing with mind here a wee bit, aren't we?
Chocolate Cake is one of the required food groups in the Official Lynden Food Pyramid we've just made up, and towering? That's just whistling at us from across the room to get our attention, and it has it, fork in hand.
Glass of milk, too, we hope. An ice cold glass of whole milk is the capper of a fine cake, and while we'll do 2% if we must, any lower milk fat then that and please just keep your milk flavored water away. Thank you for your consideration of the matter

Darn good thing we can roll ourselves over to the elevator if need be, and up into a super affordable and super comfortable king bed room.
Yes, for you folks not from this neck of the Northwest woods, we Lynden-ites do occasionally stay in our own community, especially if we're camping on the Lynden / Bellingham KOA, the 5-star family camping experience right in Lynden, for you taking the RV option, or as in the case of the Cobblestone, to bring the youngsters to a place with a pool to burn off some of that winter indoor energy.

Anyway, be sure to check out both the restaurant and the hotel, just south of Lynden L**e And Auto along the Guide Meridian. From our look-see, it's top notch, just like the people of Lynden and this wonderful community some of us our fortunate enough to call home, and now with even more space for our friends and guests to put their heads on a bed!

Rainy week ahead, storm maybe Wednesday, what say you, Weatherman Randy? And no matter where you stay or where you are, YOU are loved!

IT'S A L-TOWN FRIDAY! Pizza, Steak or Leftover Halloween candy?
We hope most of you kind folks have had the wonderful opportunity to dine at Infusion Cuisine for dinner, perhaps with a pre- or post meal tipple at District Brewing, as the Infusion Team really does have one of the best dining experience perhaps in all of Western Washington, and if you haven't had the culinary pleasure, well, we aren't going to force you, but we will have to start calling you names and questioning your wardrobe choices.
- Time for the political sign harvest season, so please take down what one put up, and recycle at Lynden Chamber of Commerce member Nooksack Valley Disposal & Recycling, OR put it behind the workbench in the garage, to languish there until something soft for the knees is needed.

-> Speaking of cycles, of different type, of course, Lenny's Bike Shop will be holding their annual Christmas Holiday Bike Giveaway, where for a very great price, local merchants around town purchase a bike from Lenny's, you nominate someone for that bike, and if the local nominee is chosen, they're gonna a peddle pusher before Santa get here!
We'll let you know when the complete list of participating businesses and entry information is available.

-> Oh, and if you win the one the Chamber is sponsoring, perhaps a partial bag of leftover Halloween candy, though full disclosure, anything good has disappeared from the bag. Good-bye Snickers bar; Hello 14 sizes of Tootsie rolls!
Brought to you unknowingly by Veltkamp Family Dentistry, provider of proper dental care for all Lynden-ites!

* Friday Night at Coconut Kenny's: The Mac Attack covered with mac & cheese, the Taco, or the Kanaka, covered with Kalua pork and green onions cooked with a sweet & tangy BBQ sauce.
And as always, when in-person dining we highly recommend the delicious STUBBORN SODA Pineapple Cream Soda, and so we can tag and continue to prod the Stubborn folks to create a Northwest Raspberry Cream Soda for the Northwest Raspberry Festival.

* Weather folks calling for rain this weekend, but regardless of what may fall our way, put some sunshine in your heart by reminding someone, even yourself if need be (which may be a need) that YOU are loved!

SUNNY THURSDAY TO YOU!
Sunny Thursday to you!
It looks like it's warmish,
but it's really chilly, so hit Muddy Waters Espresso drive-thru!
It's early, the cranium is still warming up, so thanks for your patience and understanding with our lyrical prowess. Moving on...
* Congratulations to Northwest Lighted Christmas Parade supporting sponsor Lynden Noon Kiwanis, on a successful STEAM, or Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math event last weekend at the Fairgrounds, but to all those youngsters involved as well! Another group of folks in Lynden putting the word "service" in service clubs into action!

* The The Claire community theater is hosting a Family Karaoke Fundraiser this month (We suggest any selection of Partridge Family tunes), and be on the lookout for tickets to Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn presentation, not to be confused the Holiday Inn Express Bellingham, one of our fabulous Lynden Chamber of Commerce members and an excellent place for out-of-town visitors to get a restful enjoyable nights rest.

* Lynden Skateway has their Glow Skate night this Friday, from 7 - 10 p.m.. Youngster will love indoor (re: warm) activity, as will parents and other, though Uncle Longhair may be tempted to break out the platform shoes and flammable britches to get his Bee Gees funk on, so be prepared.
That's meant as warning for family members AND his polyester pants, FYI.

* If you that Great Clips in Lynden Town Center trim now, you'll still look good for Thanksgiving AND can be ready for a touch-up shortly before Christmas, showing extended family and friends that you're looking better every time they see you!
Plus, since you're in the area anyway you can grab some Blizzards from Dairy Queen afterwards and put a pre-holiday smile on the family faces

* Cheeks has the looking-good, aren't you something clothing selection to also help you succeed in a very stylish look for his coming season, without breaking the bank AND giving you actual quality for your money, always a fiscally responsible choice while keeping your pesos in your pocket

* That's all for us, have a wonderful day, enjoy the crisp fall air, and remember, like the neighbor kid who rakes your leaves, YOU are loved!

STAYED UP TOO LATE WEDNESDAY READER: Need A Nap Edition
Yes, we may have stayed up a touch late last evening, watching the newest faux-reality series called "Slow Count: The Election", which received decent ratings, but the acting was "not good" and dialogue horrible. How many time can one hear "Lets go back to Headquarters" which indeed meant staring at the back of a bunch of peoples heads while the person playing the role of reporter says such memorable lines as "According to our sources within the campaign, they are telling us...", "We're being told the candidate and their camp are cautiously optimistic" and the old standby "Eventually this is up to the voters to decide".
Whoa! Wow! What incredible insight there...

We do want to take a moment to thank all the candidates who ran for public office in this past election, especially at the state and local level, as these offices do not have the high salaries or "full time" status that those at the Federal level do. These are folks who give of their time and talent to become a reflection of us on a broad range of issues involving a myriad of often passionate opinions which are diametrically opposed to one another, never a easy task, occasionally impossible, but nonetheless necessary.
So please consider this as a small way of thanking all who were willing to literally put their name out there to serve "We the People", and congratulating those who have won the privilege to do so.
And yes, while the chances you will be occasionally mocked and teased upon these pages are as likely as Donald Trump winning re-election, we may have one or two items for your consideration anyway.
Ok, 6 actually, and probably a few more, but if you could start by naming Banket, also known as almond stick, as the Official Christmas Treat it would be greatly appreciated and any purchase thereof will be fully tax deductible.
Well, we needed to ask...
Just know that win or not win, if we agree or disagree, we pray His hand will be upon you to protect and guide you, and remind you in those times of thoughtful rumination and struggle that YOU are loved!

God bless you, and God bless America!
