LADIEEEES AND GENTLEMEN! It's Friday!
(We don't have the budget for music, so just imagine a Johnny Carson/ Price is Right combo mix. Peppy, light, exciting.)
+ We must once again express our admiration for and to those Early A.M. Sidewalkers, steaming along like the Little Engine that Could as they get in some heart healthy exercise before dawn's early light. This Keep Them Feet a Moving message unknowingly brought to you by PeaceHealth Lynden Clinic, bring the best in medicine to North Whatcom County.
+ Our thanks to the The Muljat Group North crew for the Curt Maberry Memorial Classic 3-on-3 Tournament at the Northwest Raspberry Festival pre-pre planning meeting yesterday, which led to us dreaming of Curt Maberry Farm raspberries and a bowl of ice cream when our head hit the pillow, hence todays photo from the Lynden Chamber website.
And no, we did not eat the pillow... this time.
+ Going to be even cooler tonight and tomorrow evening, so please be sure those foundation vents are covered up to avoid giving Best of Lynden award winner Van's Plumbing and Electric, Inc. a ring when the pipes are frozen. They don't mind coming out if they can, but they and you would prefer normal operating hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.
+ El Ranchito Mexican Family Restaurant for a January supper might be in order to keep the evening chills away. Open until 10 p.m Friday and Saturday, for dine in or take out, located at the Lynden Towne (with an "e") Plaza, just east of Great Clips in Lynden Town Center.
Hmmmmm..... to "e" or not to "e", that is the question
+ Made your summer reservations for the Lynden / Bellingham KOA yet? For you folks new to Lynden, there are a significant number of north Whatcom County folks who enjoy bringing the family RV to the Lynden KOA, getting a spot, and relaxing like one is far away, but close enough to run to the house for the can opener should the need arise. Book now, relax later!
+ Little ice melter for sidewalks can be helpful, but you may want avoid a heavy dose of melter or salt. Both will melt the slippery stuff, HOWEVER it can also cause your concrete to pock and crack the top smooth surface. When the ice starts to melt, the water that soaks in the concrete could refreeze and expand when the temperature drops, which can cause tiny cracks or pocking.
Brought to you also unknowingly by Asphalt NW, provider of quality paved surfaces in Whatcom County and beyond. Be sure to call today for an estimate on your project and to get on the spring and summer schedule!
