Love fireworks and want to learn how to do it professionally and work with Deep South Fireworks? This is your first step to enter the world of pyrotechnics.

What: PGI Firework Safety/Training Course
Where: Hawkinsville, GA (Address will be released later next week)
When: March 8th 9am-5pm
Cost: $125 includes breakfast, lunch, course textbook and a live fire with some fireballs .

Having this certification will allow you to lead a city on the 4th of July show as a lead pyrotechnician after experience and some additional training.

Additionally, this course would also allow you to buy proline fireworks, and the course will count as North Carolina continuing education if you need it for your state license.

Come hang out with Deep South Fireworks and get some very important training from Jeff Hale who has many years of experience and wisdom!

Continuing: Meet the CEO:

*What drew you to this role/company?*
I have always wanted to be a leader, and I think I was born for it. I really wanted to be my own boss and be able to make my own hours. I am not a morning person, and I did not want to get up early so I figured if I can be my own boss I can make my own hours. What drew me to this company was I could bring joy to the world one firework at a time. I have many stories of impacting people’s lives even if it was for a few minutes during the show. The relationships I have built through fireworks have been lifelong friends and memories that will always be cherished!

*What are the biggest professional challenges you've overcome?*
Going from just a guy that liked fireworks in small town in Georgia to being able to convince major cites to hire us for a firework display. Deep South Fireworks is going on our 5th year in operation. Many of our competitors have been in business for 100+ years. So, my professional challenge was to prove to the clients that I could do just as good or a better show than my competitors and have them give us a chance.

*What motivates you to perform at your best?*
Ever since I was a young boy, I have always been a hard worker. I always wanted to put my best foot forward in everything I did in life. I knew that if I did not work hard and perform the best I could stay at the bottom of the totem pole. What motivates me to perform the best I can is the end results. Operating a company of any caliber isn’t just a 9-5 job. It takes 80+ hour weeks to be successful at times. When I see the results of a firework show and the happiness it brings so many people that is what motivates me to perform my best.

*Professional Background*
I spent 12 years in the United States Army as a M1A1 Tank Crewmember on the Abrams Tank. I deployed to Iraq in 2009 and finished my career as an Instructor for the Armor Basic Officer Leaders Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. After that I had a short career with the Columbus Fire and EMS as a Firefighter and EMT. I then owned an ambulance company before going full time with Deep South Fireworks. I do have a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Management.

Wedding Pyro musical in Dillard, Georgia 11/16/2024. Forgot to get firework ground level sound and wipe off the lens of the drone but still love how the show turned out. Really enjoyed the white and gold finale with some heat.

Whoever likes woodworking is weird. Just about finished cutting all the wood for all our new 3” racks. You need a small army to do all this work. Next up is the 4s and 5s. Cutting 254 2” blocks is for the birds lol.

Come celebrate Byron’s 150th Anniversary with us... and a few special guests!!!

Saturday, October 26th at North Peach Park, we will be hosting Byron’s 150th Anniversary Celebration! Event gates will open at 2:00. We’ll kick off the day with an opening (DAYTIME) fireworks show by Deep South Fireworks! That’s definitely something you won’t want to miss! You can enjoy food trucks and other activities prior to the concert area opening at 4:00. A2Z Band-The Ultimate Party Band will take the concert stage at 4:30 to get the party started.

At 6:00 Edwin McCain. “His hit songs, authentic spirit, and surprisingly affable sense of humor keeps everyone coming back time and time again.” What a great way to start off the night in Byron!!

And from 7:30 til 9:00, with more than 4 decades in Southern Rock music.... 38 Special!! “Their many Gold and Platinum album awards stand in testament to the endurance of a legendary powerhouse.”

Camille Y Hathaway has accepted our offer to be apart of this team! Camille has been working with us for about 8 months now and has been an absolute critical role in the success we have had this year. After months of thinking I have decided to make this post and I NEED YOUR HELP.

I have a deep desire to want to be the company for Make-A-Wish around the USA to provide firework shows for kids that have a terminal illness.

Deep South Fireworks wants to be that light in the darkness and put a smile on many faces.
