Family Day 2024 was so much fun for so many kids!! It’s been so beautiful to see the joy on these kids faces when they get to experience such things in their own community.
After several years of this, Tyler and I (Becky) will be stepping down from organizing and taking care of this event. The Madera Fire Co. has played a crucial role in making this event what it’s been, and a few other community members have been wildly helpful as well!
Unfortunately, we have decided that we can no longer afford the financial and time costs of the event.
If anyone would like to take over this community picnic, just message me (Becky) or message this page and I will transfer ownership of this page for you to make it happen into your vision!
Tyler and I are truly so thankful to all who have worked with us for these years to make this thing happen.
SPECIAL THANKS TO
- Madera Fire Company (They have helped us annually by donating all of the proceeds of the chicken dinners to help recoup a portion of our cost)
- Moshannon Valley Marching Band
- Daniel & Natalie Arter (they show up yearly to help out in any way possible! Even brought a crew in the past!)
- area teenagers who have steeped up and worked alongside us !! Our own kids and many of their friends!!!
- Roy & Sherry McGarvey for all of their work on the fireworks side (fireworks might still happen if there is enough financial support from the community)
- Philbert Meyers for all he does to give us full access to anything we need to make the day run smoothly and his financial contributions!
- Delbert Evans for going above and beyond to help us with set up and clean up
- Madera Orthodox Church for their sno cones every year!!
- Spewock Funeral Services for their financial help and man power!!
- Tony’s Used Cars for his contributions
- RG Auto for their contributions
- Josh & Keira Korb they are ALWAYS willing to help out with anything needed !
- we also have had lots of folks that are around during the day each year who have helped out by cleaning up, packing our vehicles, bringing us last minute items, and so many other odds and ends.
As a family, we aren’t necessarily going to be slowing down, but we are simplifying. And we’re all looking forward to that. This event has been a beautiful experience for us and also for the community.
