I have spent the last few months reflecting on my photography and being a creative. I found myself being actually burnt out and didn’t even realize it until things slowed down. I have so enjoyed this break and had time to find myself in my photography again and I’m so excited moving forward. No matter if this is a job or not it was always my passion and my creative outlet first. Capturing beautiful photos, documenting memories and telling my clients “story” through photos. So don’t mind me, I’m getting back to slowing down and being in the moment just as you should busy photographer. Don’t forget to do the creative things for yourself and love what you do. Also, don’t be afraid to take a break for a little bit. This little app can be exhausting even without all of the crazy things happening in the world lately. Give yourself grace and rest and allow yourself the freedom to create.

Don’t forget- Your clients book you based off your work in your portfolio so don’t ever second guess your creative mind! A reminder I have to tell myself sometimes, especially when you maybe have a client that doesn’t fully trust you but knows you can do beautiful work. (Yes we can tell when a client thinks we’re crazy.)

Aside from weddings, I’d say I photograph senior sessions the most. I love that season of life and am always interested to find out what’s next in their lives during the photos! I’m always so impressed with how mature and driven these seniors and grads are. Documenting this milestone of life is priceless. As a mom, I’m always wanting to remember my children “how they were” in these moments. Let me capture them for you!

don’t miss out on getting those updated family photos at one of the prettiest (most peaceful) places around! Pictures out here never disappoint no matter the season! These minis would also be great for a mini engagement/couples session, maternity, pregnancy announcements, seniors, pets or some updated headshots with a nature background.

The proposal of her dreams planned by the man of her dreams. Eric + El are a match made in heaven! While we were waiting on El to arrive Eric talked about how much he loved her, she was his best friend and that he just couldn’t wait to get engaged. The amount of times I said “awe” while hanging out with these two was to many times to count. After we took a few pics and they took a moment to take it all in, we went to their engagement party where all of their family and friends were waiting to celebrate them. This couple is clearly so loved! So honored to have been the one to document their proposal!

I have so many fun ideas for engagement sessions you guys. When you’re planning your engagement session, if you need some ideas, you can always reach out and ask! I love planning my couples engagement sessions! Think outside the box and do what fits you best. Make it into a date and go do something fun or romantic together and let your photographer document it. It can literally be something so simple as going to a field to hang out and having a picnic or doing a cooking class together or making pottery! Adding an activity to your session adds authenticity and creates more wedding season memories!

How it All Began

I’ve always had a love for capturing moments and memories. I sound like a broken record when I say I love being able to look back at times captured and feel the same feelings I felt in that moment- almost like I’m being taken back in time. In the end, memories become all we have left after the time has passed.

Growing up, my grandmother would always take home videos and pictures of everything I did. I’d like to say I get my love for saving the memories from her. That’s something she has always been good at, as well as my mother. They both have photo albums upon photo albums and my grandmother with her videos.. even if she can’t find half of them sometimes. The nostalgia I feel when I look back at old memories is what I hope the couples, the families, or the individuals that I get to work with, feel when they look back at their moments that I’ve captured for them.

In my teenage years, I began capturing pictures of nature. I loved being able to see things from a different perspective than what other people do. Looking back, this is truly where two and two came together for me. Although, I didn’t start photographing actual real people until a few years later. Looking back at my first wedding- God bless those people, haha - is when I finally found my niche in the photography world. Seeing their chemistry, their love being preserved with every click of the shutter is when I knew that was what I wanted to do primarily. Don’t get me wrong.. I love getting to know everyone that I get to photograph. I believe that with each individual shoot comes a unique experience for each.

Being different is truly what I strive for. Sometimes ideas don’t come naturally as I feel they do for others but I always put my own spin on things to make it unique. Most of the people that I work with tell me that they do not like taking pictures (mainly guys) but I pride myself in knowing that I’ll at least get a “It’s not that bad” in the end. I feel that having laughter and being able to be yourself is truly how a picture should be captured. After all we are preserving a memory, right? Right.
