One week into the new year and in wrapping everything up from 2024, I feel really proud to be able to share these fun numbers from last year. From starting this business just 3.5 short years ago, it's really neat to see how this has grown.
This job can be taxing, people can be tough, and yes, weekends in the summer are totally shot, but you know what they say: If you love your job, you never work a day in your life. And man, that's true. While it's definitely still work, I love it.
I know not everyone can be this lucky, but my wish for all of you in 2025 is to find a job that you love and throw yourself at it with everything you've got.
Thanks to all my industry partners for making me look good last year- I really couldn't have done it without you. And thanks to all my clients for trusting me with your big moments- I hope that I could make your event memorable and magical.

It became very clear as soon as I started unboxing things that Lindsey and Devin (mostly Lindsey) LOVES Christmas. This celebration was merry to the max. The whole night twinkled with tons of candles, sparkly ornaments, Christmas lights and trees, and the glitteriest dress I have ever seen. It was absolutely stunning. And Lindsey was absolutely like a kid on Christmas, jolly all day long. Thanks for trusting me with your magical day! Happy Anniversary and may all your days be as merry as your wedding day!

I met Jordan about 2 years ago when my baby was born premature and had to spend a short stint in the NICU. Jordan was hands down our favorite nurse and was so kind, calm, and caring towards us and our tiny bundle. After spending some long hours at the hospital, we started chatting and I found out she was recently engaged and planning to get married. I got all excited and from then on, we talked about two things only: weddings and tiny babies. When the wedding day finally arrived, it was such a delight to celebrate with this amazing couple. Jordan was all smiles from ear to ear and Nate was so excited and engaged, you could tell he wanted everything to be perfect. And truthfully, it was. They had such a fantastic day and it made me so happy to see such wonderful friends and family surrounding this adorable couple. They deserve nothing but the best. I’ll never be able to repay the gift that Jordan gave our little family early on, but I hope that I was able to make their celebration truly special.

It’s so fun to work on annual events. This one has been really special for me, especially as I was invited to return for a third year. It’s been so rewarding to watch this event evolve and improve every year, especially when the first year I worked on it, there were a lot of snafus. This year, the planning and past experiences paid off and for the most part, I could sit back and let it happen. That’s also a huge testament to the St. Paul’s staff who kindly adopts me into their little planning group each year and talks about fun, new, zany ideas to make this event bigger and better every year. Thanks for having me back for such a beautiful event.

I really love working with couples who are a little bit older. Not that Jess and Robert are old, by any means, but they’re not 20-somethings. I’ve found, couples that are more “advanced” are really more advanced. They don’t get hung up on the little things, they really know what they want, and their love is somehow different. Like more mature or assured or something. Jess and Robert were so easy to work with and you could tell that they both had the mutual feeling of being the luckiest people in the world that day. The flowers were gorgeous, the bride was beautiful and the speech was dead on when Robert said he was so happy to be surrounded by the most important and best people in their lives. The friendship and family love was so obvious as I had multiple people from the bridal party tell me how much they cared about Robert and Jess and how, even if there was no blood relation, these people would always be family. I hope the merging of your two families makes you both feel like the luckiest people in the world every day of the week.

A moment for this dress! With removable sleeves with delicate pearl beading, plus a removable top portion, this dress had two very distinct looks, both gorgeous in their own way. While the day had all the looks and feels of a wedding day, Katelyn and Clayton had actually been married at an earlier date and this was their big celebration with friends and family. Adding to the excitement, the couple had recently moved into their new home, so this party felt like the culmination of months of hard work and anticipation. I hope it was everything you dreamed, Clayton and Katelyn. Congratulations on all the big life moves in June!

It can be really challenging when you’re a self-proclaimed Type A personality to trust someone else with the biggest day of your life. And I am so glad I could be the one to help Aly and Duncan with their special day. These two had all the details covered, from a self-choreographed first dance to custom Scottish tartan vests and pocket squares, plus some of the most beautiful fake flowers I have ever seen, this day was truly elegant and beautiful. To be honest though, my favorite part was the self-written vows, during which the groom acknowledged his bride’s “Type A personality” and was hoping he could help her take it down, “even to an A minus.” That line definitely hit home and I will definitely be trying myself to be a little more “Type A minus.” Congratulations, Aly and Duncan, and thanks for letting me be a part of your A+ wedding.

As we get back to school this week, it had me thinking back to May and graduation! This is my second year helping the parents of the SAM fraternity brothers with their graduation bash. People often ask me on event days if I’m stressed out or if I find my job stressful in general. Typically my answer is no, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little stressed out when I arrived at the house on Friday. As we could have predicted, there was a pretty big party at the house earlier in the week and there was a lot of work to do, but by the time we got to the party, you never would have guessed that place was home to 30 or so college guys. And the details that the moms on the planning committee had put together were great. An amazing menu with local favorites like Ian’s pizza by the slice and famous deep fried cheese curds was complemented by festive balloons, bright red linens, and cute Bucky themed desserts. It was really a fun celebration on a beautiful day at the lake house. The real VIP of making the party possible was Diana and her crew from R&V Cleaning Solutions. If you ever need someone to clean up a big mess (or even a smaller one) I highly recommend them!

When you live out of town, it can be challenging to plan a wedding when you don’t have boots on the ground. I had the opportunity to be the “boots” for Ellie and David. This couple was so friendly and down to earth. They rolled with the punches and put so much trust in me to make their day great. Thank you for putting your faith in me! I hope you can look back on the day with lots of love, a little laughter, and loads of fond memories! I had such a blast celebrating my birthday with you!

Sadie and Tyler’s beautiful day at the Tinsmith in Madison was so elegant. The velvet green bridesmaid dresses and velvet green shoes matched the decor of the Tinsmith perfectly and added the perfect amount of warmth and elegance to a chilly fall day in Madison. One especially fun touch were these heart shaped sunglasses that made their way around the dance floor and got some really fantastic photos. Thanks for trusting me with your special day, Sadie and Tyler, and for making the day super fun!

Paige and Mitchell’s love story is one of the cutest ever, and their vows clearly showed the love they have for each other and the fun they have together. Plus, their adorable Cabbage Patch look-alike daughter was a trooper, coming back in jammies for late night dancing. And talk about a transformation- you would never guess that this venue is regularly a trucking and transit garage. The amount of work and time that was put into this beautiful day by friends and family was truly a testament to how wonderful this couple is. Congrats, Paige and Mitchell!

Some brides wear veils, some don’t, but I have never seen such a unique crown for a Wisconsin wedding. Plus, the bride had this sweet late night outfit change, complete with a new dress and awesome white boots. She absolutely rocked her style that day.
