What an incredible first day we’ve had at the Nature Everywhere Conference.

Chief Clayton Winneshiek, traditional chief of the Ho-Chunk Nation, opened the morning; we heard remarks from Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, who has proclaimed June 1 to be “Nature Everywhere Day;” and enjoyed our general session, “The Transformative Power of Equitable Access to Nature for Communities,” with Phil Ginsburg, Ashleigh Cibelli-Pettus, Daniele Lyman-Torres, moderated by Robert Blaine.

The day continued with breakout sessions, a poster session, and so many opportunities to grow the movement.

Monona Terrace's Iconic Carpet

Monona Terrace reopened this past weekend after a brief closure for renovation. A standout feature is the 125,442 square feet of freshly replaced and nearly identical signature carpeting, which was worn from ten years of high use. In this video, Monona Terrace Tourism Coordinator Heather Sabin takes us on a little journey through the history of our iconic carpet and explains some of the stir of past designs.
