First let me welcome you to the ‘Shiners Family. We will open in a couple weeks. Till then, a little about us…

After earning a living on the Pro BBQ Circuit for over a decade, multiple restaurants, tv shows, coaching Food Sport World Champions, competing Internationally and representing the United States and some of the BBQ and Grilling industry’s top companies, my wife and I have chosen to live in Madisonville, KY. Returning to her hometown, growing roots and continuing the legacy of 4 generations of bourbon barrel building blended with my barbecue.

Madisonville reminds me of my hometown growing up. I even got my flip of the wrist hand wave back because thats what you do driving on the roads of Western Kentucky.

Friendly, Faithful, and Fulfilling. We are home.

We are happy and proud to share with you that Shiners Craft BBQ and Smokehouse will be offering a variety of menu items and we hope your soon to be your favorites. I have fed busboys to billionaires and even an English Lord. I look forward to catering for you, your family and friends.

It pushes the bourbon through the charred coal barrel wood. You were probably thinking about it turns it into diamonds. The old roadside markets had their craft specialty. Their menus could tell the story of the region. Some had boiled peanuts. Maybe a vegetable stand. Fresh Pecans. Others crawfish. In the South, when you found fine dining, it was a Tennessee T-bone. You don’t order it rare or medium. Properly seasoned with the local stories and done right, its always “well done”. Smoked to perfection. Sliced thick on a Butcher’s block and put between two slices of white bread with a sauce that drips down your hand as you bite in. We call if Poppa Steve’s Tennessee T-bone. You can call it the best damn smoked bologna you ever did taste!

As a young kid, Sundays were the day Dad fired up the grill after the rest of us got home from church. The flank steak had been marinating with his special blend since Saturday night. Getting all the flavor he wanted his family to taste.

Those early influences were well before Instagram, but were definitely ‘Gram worthy!
