Creating your wedding guest list can be a daunting task, but with thoughtful planning and clear communication, it can be a manageable and even enjoyable part of the wedding planning process. Here are seven tips to help you create your wedding guest list:

1. Start with a Rough Estimate
- Set Your Budget and Venue: Determine your budget and venue capacity first, as these will dictate the size of your guest list.
- Initial Draft: Create an initial list with all potential guests, without worrying about limits. This gives you a clear picture of your social circles.

2. Prioritize Guests
- Immediate Family and Close Friends: Start by listing immediate family members and your closest friends.
- Extended Family and Other Friends: Add extended family and other friends in order of importance.
- Work Colleagues and Acquaintances: Consider inviting colleagues and acquaintances last, based on your relationship with them.

3. Divide and Conquer
- Equal Splits: Divide the list equally between you and your partner, and then allocate portions to each set of parents if they are contributing financially.
- Compromise: Be prepared to compromise if your initial lists exceed the venue capacity.

4. Create Categories
- A-List: Must-invite guests who you cannot imagine not being there.
- B-List: Guests you’d like to invite if space and budget allow. You can invite B-list guests as A-list RSVPs decline.

- Regularly Update: Update your list as you receive RSVPs and make adjustments as needed.
