It’s back-to-school time which means everyone is starting to look at those calendars and make plans! I’ve had several mitzvah inquiries come in this week so I thought I’d answer a few FAQs!
❓When should I reach out regarding photography for my child’s event?
📷 I am currently booking through 2026! A lot of families have parties on Saturday evenings and those can fill up quickly, so as soon as you have your date from your temple, I would reach out to check in with your photographer.
❓Can you take photos during the service?
📷 Each temple has their own rules about whether photography is allowed but most do not allow photography during service. Instead there is usually a reserved time for your family to be in the sanctuary for photos with the Rabbit and/or Cantor, where we simulate key moments of service (holding the Torah, reading the Torah, etc.) If you are hosting service at a hotel or other venue, I’ve found that most Rabbis will allow me to photograph service.
❓How do I book?
📷We can chat about what you need and when you need it, and then I will draft your contract. Once it’s signed, you’ll receive an invoice to submit your 20% retainer, which secures your date and finalizes the booking process. I’m always available for questions at any time, but I like to schedule a meeting about 30 days before your event to go over details and create our photography plan.
