It’s back-to-school time which means everyone is starting to look at those calendars and make plans! I’ve had several mitzvah inquiries come in this week so I thought I’d answer a few FAQs!

❓When should I reach out regarding photography for my child’s event?
📷 I am currently booking through 2026! A lot of families have parties on Saturday evenings and those can fill up quickly, so as soon as you have your date from your temple, I would reach out to check in with your photographer.

❓Can you take photos during the service?
📷 Each temple has their own rules about whether photography is allowed but most do not allow photography during service. Instead there is usually a reserved time for your family to be in the sanctuary for photos with the Rabbit and/or Cantor, where we simulate key moments of service (holding the Torah, reading the Torah, etc.) If you are hosting service at a hotel or other venue, I’ve found that most Rabbis will allow me to photograph service.

❓How do I book?
📷We can chat about what you need and when you need it, and then I will draft your contract. Once it’s signed, you’ll receive an invoice to submit your 20% retainer, which secures your date and finalizes the booking process. I’m always available for questions at any time, but I like to schedule a meeting about 30 days before your event to go over details and create our photography plan.

What other questions can I answer?

It can sometimes be tough to decide on an outfit for your headshot session, so it’s always ok to bring options! We have time in your session to swap out tops or outer layers and mix and match to see what looks best. When Karen came in for her headshot session, we both decided the cream top looked better but decided to do a few in this top just in case. And this ended up being our favorite combo once we reviewed the images.

Also, can we talk about how GORGEOUS her curls are!? I’m jealous!

Whenever I work with a company for a brand photo shoot, we talk about what sets them apart from their competitors. One thing that’s unique about On Top Printing & Signs is how easy it is to walk into their shop at the Genesis Health Club in Maitland, check out samples, place quick orders and get all of your questions answered by their awesome team. We planned to have a model come in to help us capture photos to represent that but we ended up having so many actual customers of theirs pop in during their photo shoot that we got amazing authentic shots of their team in action.

This past weekend was Cantor Bryce Emily Megdal's last service at Congregation of Reform Judaism - CRJ so of course I had to take a trip down memory lane. Thank you for all of your help during service photos and for always being such a kind and welcoming person whenever I saw you! Best of luck in your next adventure! You will definitely be missed!

I had a great time last month working with for their Great Strides Walk at ! We started out with great weather but by the time the walk started, everyone was getting soaked in the rain! I was so impressed with all of the smiling faces despite the weather. But don’t worry, everyone got to visit the giraffes so I think it was worth it! 🦒

While we took some amazing professional headshots last night, we had a little fun as well! Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth at the Maitland Area Chamber Of Commerce expo last night!
