Pretty, pretty protea! The plants are loving the cooler weather and the bit of rain we have been getting (and we are, too—even though it’s a bit rough working in the elements; it’s all worth it!). We’ve been harvesting and sending off so many beautiful blooms—wholesale and all our available retail items in the shop. Make sure you get your orders in for the holiday season, we will be reaching capacity for November soon and some weeks in December are already almost filled up, too. It will change with the seasons but for now, it features a stunning king and mink protea, along with achiote tree blossoms, and vibrant pincushion protea. Protea are so unique and the different textures are amazing. We’ve always loved Banksia foliage and can’t bring ourselves to discard them in the compost pile when we strip some off for our selection in gift boxes, arrangements, and wreaths….so we keep them and dry them. We feature their rough and rugged textures in this wreath. I was inspired by upcountry Paniolo who are some of the toughest folks around.
