Haku Maui will be Closed Today, Wednesday December 4th. We’ll be back open tomorrow resuming our normal hours this week!

Today we are celebrating my Granny. This is our first year without her and today is her 82nd birthday. If she wasn’t with one of us at one of our families shops, she was with us at the beach. That’s where we’ll be! We love you!

A Haku Maui Workshop 🌿 Where every flower is picked and placed just for you 💕

At the heart of Haku Maui is education in the perpetuation of lei within Hawaiian culture. As you learn the art of different lei-making styles, we guide you through the history of lei and its floral evolution over time, with its roots being especially significant. Some styles of lei-making are more intensive than others, but in the end, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the process. ✨

2024 Pacific Edge Native Hawaiian Business of the Year!!!! I am speechless! We did it guys!! Everyday we work countless hours and carry the responsibility of not only owning and operating a small business here in Hawaiʻi, but a Hawaiian business, an Indigenous business. A business that is family owned and operated in our hometown, MAKAWAO ✨

I think back to the days of running Haku Maui out of our garage to moving forward and opening our shop almost 7 years ago. Nervously hoping that people would come, praying for at least one sale, at least one moment to positively impact someone’s life and positively impact Hawaiʻi. And here we are. We did it! With so much left to do in this lifetime, we take this moment in and we KEEP GOING.

I was so nervous to attend. I was preparing myself not to win just in case it didn’t happen but then I would think, what if you do win? Just geeeeev um!!

I couldn’t do this without the support of my mom and Celina, my family, my friends, my community, my ʻohana near and far, the lāhui, our kūpuna, our culture, our farmers, my mentors, and all of those around the world who believe in us.

So let’s keep going. Let’s keep supporting local. Let’s keep working hard. And LET’S KEEP STRIVING TO MAKE HAWAIIAN LEI GROWN IN HAWAIʻI NEI. Kiko pau. 🌿

Tending to the place we love so much. Our space has changed over the years but this wall remains the same. It’s the first thing you see when you walk into our workshop. This sign was our very first sign made for our pop ups by our very own Lina Bailey in 2017. These macrame once carried vases of cut flowers on a yellow wall, now carry Anthuriums year round, the flower of the 💛 This lau niu bag, woven by me with Pāpale woven by Leilani, made for Hōʻea at Haku Maui, remember that ✨ This lei Kukui made from the parents of Pūnana Leo years ago. This Ti Maile, a gift from Kimokeo for our blessing. The list goes on. Some may see beautiful decor, but every morning I walk in and see a story, a time capsule, and a testament to how far we’ve come 🌿
