We hope you’ll consider joining us Thursday, Oct. 3 for the opening reception of “Our Farms, Our Future” at the Spring Street Gallery Saratoga from 6-8 p.m. The exhibit will remain in the gallery through Nov. 1. “Our Farms, Our Future” tells the story of our farms in transition, as a third of our state’s farmers are now 65 and older and own two million acres of farmland that will be changing hands in the coming years. The exhibit highlights farm transitions happening within and outside of farm families to show the different paths farmers are taking to keep their land in agriculture. Increasingly, a diverse new generation is looking to farm, including women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ folks, and others who have been historically underserved by agricultural programs and continue to face barriers to get into farming. The exhibit features the poignant images of farmers who are both exiting and entering the field and supplements the collection with written stories about these farmers, capturing this critical moment in time.

Additional programming is planned for the month of October on farm transition planning, land access, and tools for farmland protection and transition. Learn more about the project and RSVP for events at www.farmland.org/our-farms-our-future-exhibit

One of our own was on the news!! We donated herbs and flowers for the Three Sisters Fundraiser at the Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa, NY this past Saturday. We had a great time making bouquets for the participants and learning about traditional Native American culture, farming techniques, and history. 🌽
