Because you can’t have design elements literally getting in the way as your guests are served. And here is some of the advice I give my couples:💫For family style service: Opt for sleek, low-profile centerpieces to ensure easy passing of dishes. Consider narrower table runners or small votives and candles that leave plenty of space for serving platters and bowls. It's all about balance; you want your tables to look abundant but not cluttered.

💫For cocktail style service: Your tables can afford to be a bit more lavish with the decor since guests will be served standing away from the table. This is your chance to go bold with taller centerpieces or more elaborate tablescapes. Just ensure there's still enough room for guests to place their plates and glasses without the risk of accidents.

💫For plated meal service: Elegance and simplicity work best here. Since plates will be brought directly to guests, ensure there's ample space around each setting for multiple courses and glassware. Currently in my featured in the era! (Link in bio) Dee Kay Events is quoted for our thoughts on hiring a Wedding Day Content Creator.

We started to add Wedding Day Content exclusively for clients in 2022. It was a natural progression in this ever changing landscape of social media. (We now offer it as a standalone collection as well!)

I received a text about the feature earlier today from the wonderful that had me in excitement paralysis (is this a real thing? 🤣) where you're so excited you don't know what to do.

Quoted in the New York Times! My inner Croatian from Jersey definitely let a few bad words fly out me' mouth. It may have started with an f and end with a yes.

Then another text from my planning soul sister . This is where I peed a little. We were both quoted in the same article...again! The Double Dees at it. Watch out world, were coming for ya.

Oh my good lawd. 11 years ago, when Dee Kay Events was born, my goals were not even on the same playing field as this milestone. It's truly unbelievable. It's been an amazing journey of writing this entire year. It was a passion that was dormant for a bit, but now I can't stop.

I am so proud and honored. It's pretty cool to be your favorite elder millennial who has an entire vibe going on, so much so to be in the Style section of NYT. 💅

What is even happening right now. Whatever is, it's amazing, and I am so grateful.

My great-great grandfather was murdered by communists via drowning in a fish trap in the Adriatic Sea. My grandfather was born during WW1 and survived WW2. My father was born during WW2, escaped communism and built a new life in the United States. I grew up visiting my grandparents and family in this little seaside village called Privlaka. The home of my ancestors. The ancestors who helped rebuild Zadar after WW2 with excavating the peninsula sand with their bare hands and carrying the weight, quite literally, on their shoulders. This sand, the same sand that I brushed off my feet every summer or would get stuck in the bottom of my beach bag, means more to us than most people know.

These photos by invoked nostalgia for home and reminded me of how important this summer festival is to our village. It's called "Noć Privlačkih Ribara i Sabunjara," or, "The Night of Fisherman and Sabunjari." (There is no translation for the work of the Sabunjari, but "sabun" means "sand.") These photos reminded me of how important Sabunjari were for the history of Croatia. It reminds me of the privilege it is to type this from a screen and how many generations it took for us to all be here at this moment. The photos, quite literally, show the house my great grandfather was born in. This small, yet mighty, sea village with so much heart, resilience and history like no other, is home.

Magic dances upon these cobblestone streets and upon my heart. Privlaka is more than the beaches. It's more than the summer fun. The warm sea air gently hugs you every evening while every breath replenishes your soul. It's a place where generations upon generations of people survived, thrived and they still come back to the simplicity and greatness of their village. For that, I am forever grateful.

My ancestors are Sabunjari.

After a weird eye allergy, leaving me look like a mini cyclops and losing my voice (probably because of hell fire air quality again 🙄), this is our official out of office message.

The Jersey Shore wedding planner who dances at your wedding also celebrates every single one of your wins years later. You see, wedding planning is not a job for me. It's who I am. Loving on and helping people is what drives my heart.

Alaina and Brian celebrated 8 years together this weekend! It is an incredible honor to be part of this wedding. But even more to see how much they have grown, been through, and see their family grow.

I planned a super fun last day of Pride Month post. Yet, this is where we're at: Today, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of a web designer refusing to design wedding websites for same s*x couples. Swipe through for story time with Dee.
