It does *not* go by fast. It's ok if the days seem to drag on and on, it's normal and you'll be on the other side eventually.
You'll feel like a milk cow. And when you think, "My baby can't possibly still be hungry,"
It's most likely they are.
Take a lot of pictures AND video. I mean, obviously I love photos, but there is something so special about hearing the noises and seeing the movements.

If you're worried about being a great mom...you already are one. Give yourself some grace.

You're not a failure if you can't breastfeed & formula feeding doesn't make you a bad mom.

It's ok if you have laundry to put away and dishes to wash because your baby would not leave your side today and you didn't get it done.

Added a greenhouse mini day in November!

Over the years I've heard it all... " it's not a real job " " look at the camera lady " " the lady with a camera " My work, this JOB goes beyond photos you post on social media.... these are things I've booked the past few years that are so much more than just photos. " my mom is on hospice can we do family photos while she's still here " " this is my pregnancy after 3 miscarriages " " this is the birth of our son we lost his twin a few months ago " " can we do photos of me and my kids before i lose my hair to chemo? " "My husband is getting deployed for a year can we do a session before he leaves us " " our dog isn't going to be here with us much longer can we include her? " Some of these are heartbreaking and I hold back the tears during our shoot... knowing what how your heart must feeling during these, but my work goes beyond just taking photos... and I'm honored you choose me 🤍

I've been in this business for over a decade, and have had a studio of my own for 3 years now... but this past year in my new space has been my biggest and best year to date. It's because of ALL of you, the word of mouth, the shares, the tags, sharing the photos of you with who did it- truly helps more than 1 could ever know! But this past year as much as it's been great it's not always UP.. and I have a lot of self doubt. 1. I worry if I'm even good enough? I play the comparison game, DAILY! 2. I've had other photographers message me through the years pretty nasty and rude things telling me what I'm doing wrong, that always feels great! 3. I am just a girl with a camera, how can I call myself a professional?! But with all this self doubt.. I've learned that I am good enough, my photos are more than just photos you need to post on social media, these are memories FROZEN in time for important moments.. moments that go even deeper than you can even imagine! Having a studio has taught me that you DO anything you dream of if you believe in yourself and work HARD.. if it's not working, figure out how to make it work 👏🏻 I'm SO thankful for my support system I have from my husband, family & friends.. who cheer me on daily and every day even when things feel HARD!
