Almost a week out from Shannon and Michael’s amazing wedding last weekend and I’m still not over how beautifully the details came together. A year’s worth of planning surely pays off when you have a beautiful vision and the right vendor team on your side! 💖

There’s so much that I have come to love about the traditions and practices for Hindu wedding ceremonies, but this was the first time I was able to be a part of a couple’s Manglik Prasang, as well as the Haldi!
💚 This event is a series of religious ceremonies that includes a prayer to Lord Ganesha, a hindu deity known as the remover of obstacles. 🙏 I just love that!! 🥰
💜 Sidd also took part in a Traditional Haldi Ceremony. Haldi rasam is a pre-wedding ceremony performed a day or two before the wedding. Family members and friends playfully slather the bride and groom in a paste of turmeric, oil, and milk. It is believed that haldi rasam is done in order to prevent evil spirits from harming the to-be-wed couple.
💛 In Indian customs, turmeric’s bright yellow color is highly auspicious. The couple, who are beginning their new life together, is blessed with prosperity thanks to the good fortune of this element and its colour. For this reason, the groom and bride wear yellow attire for their wedding haldi ceremony.
🩵 In addition to its ability to beautify, purify, and detoxify, haldi is also thought to lessen some of the anxiety that the bride and groom experience. Turmeric contains an antioxidant called curcumin, which has been shown to have mild antidepressant and headache-relieving properties.

💜 Setting the table doesn’t have to be boring!! 🩵 created a gorgeous sunset inspired vibe in the florals! Tram & Chris added a touch of fun with their place cards & menus printed onto bread bags for their dinner service. Es**rt cards instructed each guests to 🐆‘Find Their Party Animal’,🦒 which the newlyweds personally paired to each guest!

A fun New Orleans tradition, similar to the bouquet toss, some traditional cake pulls include a ring charm for the next to be married! Many of our brides opt not to include the ring charm, and instead select a variety of charms for all of their closest girlfriends & bridesmaids to pull from the cake!
