There’s so much that I have come to love about the traditions and practices for Hindu wedding ceremonies, but this was the first time I was able to be a part of a couple’s Manglik Prasang, as well as the Haldi!
💚 This event is a series of religious ceremonies that includes a prayer to Lord Ganesha, a hindu deity known as the remover of obstacles. 🙏 I just love that!! 🥰
💜 Sidd also took part in a Traditional Haldi Ceremony. Haldi rasam is a pre-wedding ceremony performed a day or two before the wedding. Family members and friends playfully slather the bride and groom in a paste of turmeric, oil, and milk. It is believed that haldi rasam is done in order to prevent evil spirits from harming the to-be-wed couple.
💛 In Indian customs, turmeric’s bright yellow color is highly auspicious. The couple, who are beginning their new life together, is blessed with prosperity thanks to the good fortune of this element and its colour. For this reason, the groom and bride wear yellow attire for their wedding haldi ceremony.
🩵 In addition to its ability to beautify, purify, and detoxify, haldi is also thought to lessen some of the anxiety that the bride and groom experience. Turmeric contains an antioxidant called curcumin, which has been shown to have mild antidepressant and headache-relieving properties.

💜 Setting the table doesn’t have to be boring!! 🩵 created a gorgeous sunset inspired vibe in the florals! Tram & Chris added a touch of fun with their place cards & menus printed onto bread bags for their dinner service. Es**rt cards instructed each guests to 🐆‘Find Their Party Animal’,🦒 which the newlyweds personally paired to each guest!

✨ What Are Cake Pulls? ✨ I get asked this question lot when talking to my couples about their cake. A fun New Orleans tradition, similar to the bouquet toss, some traditional cake pulls include a ring charm for the next to be married! Many of our brides opt not to include the ring charm, and instead select a variety of charms for all of their closest girlfriends & bridesmaids to pull from the cake! Featured Couple Spotlight: Meredith + Margaret

Meredith and Margaret's wedding day began with an emotion-filled First Look on the balcony of Margaret Place Hotel.

Their stunning ceremony, overlooking the lagoon behind the iconic Peristyle in New Orleans City Park, included a sage ritual performed by Married by Minister Toya. Even with 200 guests in attendance, Margaret & Meredith's wedding could not have felt more intimate and special 🥰

The brides had an amazing party at Margaret Palace Hotel, with their DJ friend spinning records that kept the dance floor packed all night!

One special moment that I will always remember is the newlyweds dancing through their sparkler exit! It was such a fun way to end the night!! ✨

Lindsay has been with our team for a year and a half and we're so glad to have her as part of our team!

As a q***r woman in the wedding industry her priority is helping create the most affirming and joyful experience possible for all of our clients.

When she's not working to make your event flawless you can find her working on a DIY project for her home, constructing her next costume, or lounging with her cats and a book.

Fun Fact: We met Lindsay when she served as an officiant at her best friend's wedding (our clients Maria & Youssef)! We often meet amazing members of our client's wedding parties, but there was something special about Lindsay that set her apart from the rest and we just had to sn**ch her up!

Lindsay also recently performed an elopement ceremony for our couple Alicia and Aleah who we are so excited to celebrate this fall. 💖
