In May, we have about 159 important awareness events. Key monthly observances include ALS Awareness Month and Healthy Vision Month. Notable daily events are World Maternal Health Day and Fair Trade Day, while weekly highlights feature Brain Tumor Action Week, Nurses Week, and Teacher Appreciation Week. It is important to note while all these are a need to know and be aware, the mind supersedes all. The right mindset enables one to achieve and beyond. MAY is mental health awareness month.
Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been crucial in addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans and billions of people around the world with mental health conditions spoken and unspoken. Throughout May, NAMI actively participates in this national movement, dedicated to eradicating stigma, extending support, fostering public education, and advocating for policies that prioritize the well-being of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
