I was excited to officiate this ceremony and perform the sword exchange ceremony. This is a symbol of protection and passing down the swords to their sons. This important Norse wedding ritual would take place during the wedding ceremony. As well as exchanging viking wedding rings, the bride and groom would also exchange swords. This symbolic gesture symbolized a transfer of protection between the two families. ⚔️
