Not my typical post..As the flower stand is temporarily closed until spring, I am one month out from double knee replacements. Keeping myself on track with movement and healing and striking the right balance so I can be good as new for next growing season. Hope you have been enjoying this lovely October fall days! Most! Fabulous! Lisianthus! Ever! Grown!
I have been growing Lisianthus now for 7 years and....this color is by far THE BEST color yet! Only one variety of this series out of Japan, of course, and I am so smitten!

Celebrating the 4th in Boston.

This is my Irish sister Theresa ( we are 11 months apart and right now we are the same age) She is, an avid cyclist, whom several weeks ago, started her travels in and is celebrating our Independence in Boston before she heads to Bangor Maine, her final spot for the trip.

She has been a consummate support of me during my flower business but this is not about me.

Through rain, humidity, countless hills, two bears ( and a few beers), a stolen bike in Philly, she has persevered along her journey. Her big goal is to live to be 100!

I am so very proud of her! And, she is really enjoying her time in retirement! Her husband Ed, is holding down the fort at home....albeit, probably brewing a few beers at in Saline!

Does anyone else have a sister like this?

"Hello mom, Happy Mothers day. Brought you some real flowers but your neighbors all have fake flowers. This place has been getting busy. At first I thought they were all coming to see you but then remembered you only had 6 kids, not 60!

I hope you are enjoying your time with dad but I wished I could have shared so many memories with you; weddings, new grandchildren, vacations, new flower business.

I regret not spending enough time with you in my busy family years. Now, I have more time but you are no longer here. Please know that I loved you and was so proud of your college degree at age 54! I see you in me so much. I have Donnaisms!

We are all doing well but would have liked to have had you longer in our lives. You just never know when your time is up.

P.S. All 6 of us get together every year in February to share time and stories. We have lots of fun, just like we were as kids.

Thanks for being my mom and always loving me.😌 I always felt your love"

As many of you know, the farmstand flowers are 95% of the time in a vessel which you pick up and take home. The exception is next week we will have lavender 💜 bundles to take. Sometimes I lke crazy cool things in which to place flowers and this week is one of them. I am experimenting on a new vessel, which I have had in the barn for a year.
