The Friends of Marengo (Marengo Haunted Barn) is proud to sponsor “Marengo Movies in the Park” in conjunction with Compass Memorial and MarenGo.

This event is planned for Wednesday June 26th 2024. We’ll be assessing for a good start time tonight (since it’s an outdoor movie we want to make sure folks will be able to see the screen), so start time will be posted soon!

We had a passing of the torch tonight at the legion meeting. After 33 years as the Financial officer, Harold Rosenberry resigned and Cameron Miles will take over as the new financial officer. Harold was given a plaque for his outstanding and long service.

Hey veterans, we need your help. Marengo American Legion Post 76 is trying to get a Legion Riders Post started. You don't need to be a member of Post 76. You just need to either be a member of Your Legion Post or ours. As a Legioneer, or Auxiliary member, or a member of your local sons of the Legion. We want to make this a fun chapter. If you are a veteran or a son of a veteran or even a spouse of a member join up and enjoy helping our communities. Just simply get ahold of Bob Alexander, Doug East, or Ben Brecht and we will gladly help you get started.

Not Wrong……. Ok Iowa County veterans, it’s that time of year ago where I venture out into the world and join hundreds of other Veteran Service Officers at the NACVSO training.

The office will be closed the week of May 13th through Friday the 17th.

I am available via email but will have limited ability to call you back during business hours this week.

Otherwise the office will resume regular hours on Monday May 20th 2024. That day has multiple appointments booked so please contact the office prior to walking in so we can make sure we can meet with you.

In the mean time folks, stay out of trouble 😉

I would like to thank The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa/Western Illinois for the donation to be disbursed to veterans throughout Iowa! Thank you Robin, your daughter does (in fact) look exactly like you and is just as sweet. Some cookies will remain at the iowa County VA office for distribution, (supplies only while they last). And the rest will be hand delivered to Des Moines next week for other CVSOs to provide for their veterans as well.
