Today, we honor Lieutenant John William Hood, the first Cobb County Police Officer to die in the line of duty. Lt. Hood dedicated his life to serving our community and tragically lost his life on June 25, 1960, after responding to a call on Roswell Road. His legacy of dedication and bravery continues to inspire us all.
