This week it is all about Bupleurum. I planted these plugs way back in November and they are now putting on a show in mid May. I also had double reseed from last year’s production which has been a fun surprise! Another fun fact about this cutie is that is drys beautifully!!! If you are interested in a colorful everlasting dried bouquet I recommend getting yourself some of these. Simply hang upside down in a dark dry space in your home and in a few weeks they will be ready to display forever. Another beautiful fact is that you won’t find it in your regular grocery store ;)

If you like flowers and you like getting deliveries I want you to check out our CSA Big Blooms Subscription. Although we have sold out for 2023 you can start planning for 2024! This year we offered a Full Season and monthly subscription where clients had the freshest BLOOMS delivered on a biweekly schedule straight to your door all for a one time payment! Our growing season this year is May-October. 2024 we are hoping to start that a bit earlier with way more Spring BLOOMS! Thank you to all that have joined this years CSA your support means so much to me as a first year flower farmer. We have big things in the works for 2024…I know it’s only August but the planning has already started! Believe it or not I will be starting the Early Spring seed sowing in the next month 🤯 - if you have questions on what a CSA is …ask away! Happy Birthday Susan! Today was a great day. I got a call from a good family friend up in Knoxville to place an order for a friend here in Marietta, GA for her birthday. As I handed over the flowers the birthday girl told me how she has never had flowers delivered to her and she was in love with them! Thank you to @jackieswaggerty for trusting me with creating a this wonderful bouquet. This bouquet was put together using 100% Big Blooms flowers grown right here on our urban micro farm. Here is your reminder to shop local and help support small farms in your area.
Give your flowers a vacation too! We had 2 leftover bouquets this week and I don’t want them to go to waist! We are camping just 25mins away from the farm…it may be camping but that doesn’t mean it can’t be nice! In a few weeks we are headed to the beach and yes I plan to travel with a bouquet in hand haha.
Kids are home for the summer…first year flower farmer trying to do it all…juggling house chores, kids, and a full time farm gig is difficult. My house seems to be taking the biggest hit currently however I am also behind on my planting schedule. Devin is amazing and he is the only reason we have clean dishes of clean clothes for the last month. Haha 😂 I laugh to stop from crying haha can anyone else out there relate?
