I love it when brides show me their inspiration boards and they have my work on them! It makes me so happy! I knew this wedding was special, but I didn’t know how many people would find me because of it. I adore it when people trust me to guide them through picking colors and want that flowing garden style that I’m known for.

I often get asked if I do silk flowers. The answer is complicated. I mainly do fresh flowers. This arrangement is mainly fresh product. The assignment was a summer picnic arrangement for a first birthday party. I thought blueberries screamed summer, but I was having a hard time finding them. I was able to find these faux blueberries that looked very realistic and we didn’t have to worry about getting berry stains on the linens. What do you think of adding a faux element to an arrangement?

So I recently posted a story. Two truths and a lie. Thank you to everyone who guessed. Most of you got it right. The lie was that I love working with babies breath. I hate the way it smells. It breaks easily. It takes a lot of it to make the billowing clouds that everybody loves, and people mistakenly think it’s cheap. Rant over. My grandmother, we called her Memaw was a professional basketball player. I said she was 5’3, but I may have given her an inch. She played for the Tomboys. I did also work for Oprah. While freelancing for Tulip Atlanta. It was for the premiere of a show on the Own network. Unfortunately I was long gone before Oprah got there. I will post the pictures again. What is something true about you that no one would believe?

So what is a flip? A flip is when you move flowers from one place to another or you reset the room. Sometimes this can save you money, but there are several things you should know. Many times the ceremony is outside and the reception is inside. Your flowers may not look as fresh for the reception as they did for the ceremony. Flowers often get broken when they are moved and your florist will have to have extra blooms to fix the arrangement or freshen it up. If staff has to hang around for a long time to move things that will cost you in labor which is why we charge a flip fee. Sometimes it’s cheaper to have something different made for the reception. When flowers are moved they are often going to be viewed from a different perspective. Like from the bottom up instead of from the top down. Extra flowers or greenery often need to be added. It takes time to move and freshen up the arrangements. Make sure you have a full hour for cocktail hour, so there is enough time. It may even need to be longer than an hour depending on the situation. We do not recommend that flower be remade into something else, as in an arch piece being transformed into a sweetheart table arrangement. There just isn’t enough time. Slide to see the flip. I had to give you a close up of this beauty! Lavender sweet pea and butterfly ranculus are the stars of the show! I love the light airy quality of this bouquet. You should have seen the way the flowers bounced!

I’ve recently purchased some online floral design classes on sustainable floristry. I’m really excited to see some of the new ideas they have come up with! Fall wedding season came to an end and we are so excited for engagement season! Most people get engaged Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day. I’m already seeing engagement announcements online. The next two weeks are going to be busy with events and my last wedding of 2022. I thought I would pull a picture of this bouquet out one more time because it makes me happy! Usually the caption would read something like dancing into the weekend, but instead I’m asking for prayers for the families affected by hurricane Ian. The storms also affect our growers in Florida and disrupt our supply chain. Most of our flowers are shipped through Miami. I think most people don’t associate flowers with fields, but the weather greatly affects our industry.

I haven’t done an introduction in a while. If you don’t know, I’m Elizabeth, the owner of Floral Intuition. I’ve been growing this business a little over four years now. This last couple of weeks, I have really been blessed with some new opportunities! More information to come soon! I’m from Marietta and love that I get to work in Atlanta and North Georgia. When I’m not doing weddings and events, I’m catching up on The Voice and hanging out with my friends and family. While I’m working I probably have a herbal tea in my hand. Wedding season is in full swing now and I’m so excited to be back to work with my team. We have some really amazing events coming up in October and I can’t wait to share them!

I’m not a morning person, but I like for my emails to go out first thing in the morning. That gives people a chance to look at them before I check my email in the afternoon. It’s important to send emails at the times of day that you want people to contact you. You won’t get a response from me after six when I close, but most of my emails are written after that.

The cutest aisle markers ever!!! This was a super sweet garden wedding with Flaura Botanica at The Wildflower Barn at Little River Farms.

Quick video from Sunday with Flaura Botanica. We did add some extra blooms before the wedding started. We call that fluffing. This was a greenery free wedding. My personal style is greenery heavy, so it is a challenge to work without it. I absolutely love the way pampas grass blows in the wind! I love working with Laura’s dream team!

It's Fascinating Floral Friday. Today's Fascinating Flower is Hellebores or Lenten Roses. They bloom in the early spring. They have a delicate look that is beautiful in wedding bouquets. Their petite size makes them a nice accent to an arrangement.
