The first party of the new year is in the books, and it was quite a special event!
A little back story… my papaw turns 70 today! Last year on his birthday we went out to dinner, and afterwards he called me thanking me because “that was the closest thing to a Birthday party that he had ever had!” What?! 69 years old and he had never had a birthday party?! Also, at the time, he was battling cancer (he beat it!). I called my mom and told her that, “the good lord willing, we [were] throwing him a party next (this) year for his birthday!”
Needless to say, God is good, and he is faithful! We were able to throw him a surprise birthday party this year, and it was perfect!
During the planning process, the only theme I could find for a 70 year old male was black and gold. I wasn’t happy with that. It was too generic, and not personal enough for such a special occasion! I started brainstorming on a theme, and it didn’t take me long to come up with “tools.”
This man has 8272936492739473668 x 2685 tools, and he also retired from Baxter Healthcare as a maintenance man. It was beyond fitting, and using his own tools, we added that extra personal touch!
I just want to say a huge thank you to those of you who helped us celebrate such a special man! 🤍
