Hi! I’m Marjie Calise 👋🏻

I’m a hopeless romantic from New Hampshire who loves a good wedding. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Horticulture, I found myself owning a fine gardening business. After years of designing elaborate perennial gardens, I changed my focus to floral design - my true passion.

The Flower Company bloomed in my garage starting in 2016. I love and enjoy any wedding that wants to be a little different, and to help couples tell the story of their love through flowers.

I’m drawn to all things vintage and a little different. At the shop, you will always find me with a cup of coffee. I tend to obsess over the smaller details and thrive in the presence of other people. My real life consists of suburb living with my husband, Mike, and my little ones.

A flower trial is something that is really split among florists - we will share the reasons why I personally don’t 1. Flower Varieties If your centerpieces are made with roses and babies breath you may find year round at your local wholesaler - I would - but we typically design with a wide range of flower varieties that are not available year-round. Many of them are shipped or only available for weeks at a time. Our aesthetic calls for foraged, or harder to find varieties that are sourced typically just for you. Also these florals are purchased in wholesale quantities 2. Floral Moodboard Especially for in depth design weddings we will create a floral mood board based on our design meeting. Creating a color palette, aesthetic, and vibe for a unique wedding can take time and hard work. This is something visual that our couples absolutely love because it really gives them an idea how the floral design elements work together along with the other pieces of their wedding including candles, vases, and tablescapes. This is typically something that really makes our couples feel confident in what they are going to see in their wedding day. 3. Trust in Your Floral Designer We listen, we actually really listen and because we create something custom for you, the feedback we typically get is that on their wedding day was better than something they could’ve imagined. We believe that most people who connect with us for their wedding flowers have already created a relationship with The Flower Company via Instagram and know our work, our aesthetic, and our style and know that we are going to go above and beyond That being said... must have a trial? We recommend exactly 1 year before your big day, but we can’t guarantee that it will be perfectly the same on your wedding day 🤍

A coastal garden wedding for Kenzie & Zack 🌾 🌊 🪴 We can’t wait to see the final photos! We set up the arbor under cover so they could decide last minute if the ceremony would be inside or outside. We love our event coordinators 🤍
